I placed my bet and bought a 2000 Viper GTS. I try not to put too many miles on it, Michigan winters do a good job of limiting driving as its stored 6 months out of the year. I think it has many qualities that have the possibility to drive it's price up.

I have just lost some respect for you.

It has been done on the 997 without the partial drop but prepare to fuck up your hands, that’s why the dealers do the partial drop. I had one before my Viper.

Lost interest in these after they became the go to “urban” car. Basically about the time people who knew nothing about cars started liking them because rappers did.

To end stuff like this happening games should have an “average run time” on the box. Sort of like how movies have run times for them. Sure games due to there nature will not be an exact science like movie run times but it at least could give the consumer an idea of play time they can expect.

But with a movie you know exactly the length of time you are going to get. The movie will be either be good or bad but the time is a know quantity. With this game neither was a known quantity. I think that refunds should be allowed based on the fact most dev’s don’t say how long there games are thus you have 2 unknown

If you drive your Turbo like a Corolla maybe. Not saying it’s not possible to get over 80k but it’s the recommended for the Turbo. Take into account you don’t know how the previous owners drove the car, I’ve seen Turbo clutches need replacing at 50k miles. Bottom line there are many factors in a clutches life span;

Is yours a Turbo?

That’s DIY and it makes the front plugs a bitch to get to. The dealer will do a partial engine drop so they don’t have to disconnect the turbo coolant lines and oil lines to reach the front plug. Next time before being a dick maybe know the facts.

Most likely a pass. This car is right at the recommended mileage for plugs and clutch replacement. To do the plugs it requires the engine to be dropped so you will easily have a couple thousand in maintenance right away and when done you still have an 80,000 mile turbo. Look into the $60-70k range and get a much lower

That’s not true in the slightest.

It doesn’t change the fact they are $5,000 in on this “low budget drag car” when they could have bought any number of cars in better shape and already been making passes at the track.

Is there really anyone who says its not a good engine? It is just an unoriginal engine swap choice. Walking a car show and seeing LS swap after LS swap eventually makes them pretty common place and boring. Usually engine swaps bring with them a sense of individuality and creativeness but with the kits available now

So they are already in $5,000 (and countless man hours) and the car is still sketchy as fuck..... This is why my projects are never budget projects, I would have rather spent the $5,000 on a decent vehicle and built from there.

I wonder if it's because of the Subarus AWD.

Actually 7. It got updated in 09' and even had changes made to its chassis. However the Challenger on the list has not been updated in 8 years. At least on the 370z they made some changes to the chassis.

Shhhh..... Don’t tell people about the 996, once the Viper is paid off I’m thinking about getting a 996 C4S.

Probably more like $150,000.

I can’t believe Jalopnik, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hennessey, is really making a big deal about a MT pulled article. Does it matter? Do you really know what is best for their readers to tell them how to handle it?

Well duh, they are still both federal organizations.
