These are the sort of vehicles everyone dreams about, but nobody produces. As the driver of a Sidekick ragtop, I gotta say that this thing looks pretty awesome.

JoeTV makes sense to me. Or more likely Jotvee (kinda like humvee)

This is what all those bro trucks dream of being when they grow up.

I love how they’re all wearing business suits. Riding a couch around a field behind a four-wheeler just wouldn’t be a class act without suits.

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but as a fan of the original series, that description of Solo sounds pretty much spot-on. Except, add in there that he always conveniently left the dirty work for Illia.

There’s a million replies to this thread already, but I’m going to add my two cents anyway.

Rather hilariously, the original 1st-gen Yellow Odyssey was so light in the front that no air pressure was needed in the front tires. I rode mine with the tires completely flat for years; the stiffness of the rubber was enough to hold them up. I think the front of that thing only weighed about 40 lbs.

I’m embarrassed to admit it, but ths is kinda hot.

Somehow, I don’t think this is getting resold as stock.

I love how the trunk springs are still there, waving in the breeze.

Is a hill climb really that impressive on blacktop?

Looks like it’s got decent cell reception. Or something.

That Jeepster is downright regal. Looks nothing like ‘Jeep’ as we know it, but heck, I can imagine royalty driving up in that thing.

Wow! Sounds like a lot of record keeping. Care to share what the cost/mile results were?

I have a similar rule for cars; $1,000/year. If I buy a beater car for $2,000, I expect it to last me 2 years before a major breakdown, and to have zero value at that point. If I spend $15k on a car, it had better give me 15 reliable years. If I spend $5k on a decent used car, drive it for 2 years, replace something

This brings up something I’ve been wondering for a while, but couldn’t find any info on; What happened to Oppo? It’s not on the jump list anymore. Is Gawker trying to distance itself from it?

People are always more interesting than cars

As a fan of the original show, I gotta say that Henry Cavill appears to have captured the essence of Solo quite well. Hugh Grant, on the other hand, is terrible casting. Couldn’t see enough from the trailer to say on Illya. The original show was very cloak-and-dagger and took itself way too seriously (which was the

Exactly. 'Distracted driving' is the real problem, not texting. Cell phones just provide one more possible distraction; the real root problem is that these kids aren't really paying attention to their driving in the first place. And that's what needs to be fixed.

It forces you to generally remain 'in tune' with your car more, and teaches you to pay attention with more than just your eyes. I don't shift gears because I see the RPM gauge, I shift because I hear the pitch of the engine, or feel the pull/hesitation of the car. In an old 3-speed truck, you're right; cruising down
