I use Astraweb. Note that they don't follow standard security measures for passwords and that they will send them to you in plain text if you use the "forgot password" links.

I used GigaNews for years before dumping them due to price and hopping over to SuperNews. Same reliability as GigaNews, but much much cheaper. I did use the VPN service with GigaNews every now and then, but don't miss it enough to pay the steeper price.
