I’m sure with all these games a couple of bad people were involved, yet you have no trouble playing/recommending them.

You know what I’m going to play with a clear conscience? Hogwarts Legacy. The supposed outcry over this game is asinine.

Immediately stating that she had no part in the development of the game, is an easy derailment to your claim. Me buying the game isn't supporting her outright, I'm supporting the hard work the developers, programmers, models, voice actors, project managers and QC that was put into it.

Yep, this is a really strange hill to die on. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. Your phone was made with borderline slave labor, your existence is destroying the earth, and every dollar you pay in taxes goes to funding war crimes around the world.

The logic being used to cancel this game is ridiculous, if your going to look at it through this lens, people might as well stop reading Jalopnik as they post content on VW and Mercedes who have for certain supported WWII German Regimes.

It’s gotten so bad that folks are bullying vtubers (big and small) into not playing the game, for their own moral cause. Like wtf.

You know that buying the competition isn’t the issue right? There’s nothing “wrong” (at least if you believe in a capitalist system which I don’t but the laws do) about buying other companies. There is however something wrong about consolidating an industry to the point that competition doesn’t fulfil its purpose.

FWIW, King makes more money annually than Blizzard. I think core gamers often sleep on the ridiculous mobile money included in this deal.

That’s some level-A strawman reasoning right there. Of course people gave a crap about developers getting bought out, even if you never noticed. EA in particular since they had such a long string of failed acquisitions in their past history, but Activision hasn’t been without its critics either for sure. Not least…

People are missing the big picture here. MS is spending nearly $70B, that is a big B. not a small B. MS themselves will HAVE to self enforce to make that money back in any reasonable time frame on this acquisition. Companies dont usually make $100B a year. That isnt even remotely realistic. More so video game…
