It was started and run every year which probably explains the dingy engine bay. The drive shaft is a bare metal piece, any amount of moisture will cause it to rust over nearly 40 years. The rest of the underbody does seem pretty rough for such a low mileage car though.

And you haven’t bought it yet? Maybe you’re not as fancy as I thought.

My friends and I still send each other pictures and snapchats whenever we see a tan Ciera. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s glorious when it does. TAN CIERA TAN CIERA!! THAT’S THE CAR!

Now playing

Exactly, the issue isn’t power, most mid size sedans have plenty of power to tow a decent size trailer, the issue is suspension. Due to the tongue load requirements of the US most mid size sedans cant handle most trailers larger than open utility trailers, small boats, very small travel trailers etc., which means you

A lot of it comes down to tongue weight, Europe requires much less tongue weight than America, which allows smaller cars to pull heavier loads, but makes those loads much more unstable at higher speeds. Towing above 60 mph is perfectly safe here because the extra tongue weight creates a much more stable load. I tow at

There were two times in my first car that I ran out completely, the first time about a mile from the gas station, just barely on the wrong side of a hill, the second a mile and a half away from home. Supposedly the fuel light came on with about 40 miles left, which was overly optimistic as both times I only made it

I know you’re being sarcastic, but they make ear muffs that let you hear normally, but then muffle really loud sounds like gunshots, and they work really well.

I get that, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I just happen to really love this generation of trucks and seeing some inaccuracies triggered a little OCD.

These are all really good, the one of the ‘48-’50 Ford is triggering my OCD though because there’s so many inaccuracies from the real trucks. All still really cool illustrations though.

My main area of experience is the Midwest, and I try not to give examples about things I don’t know. My point being, there are thousands of trucks in the midwest that look much much worse than this one, and if one thought this truck was rusty a short amount of time in the midwest would prove them otherwise. It’s

My sister had an ‘05 Cobalt as was affected by this too, her’s actually had that problem after the new switch was put in. IIRC there’s a place on the bottom side of the steering column where you can press something to remove the key.

Do investigators believe he really was just being dumb and didn’t think his change would kill people?

Spend some more time in the Midwest and you’ll think differently. Sure those rockers have a little rot, but the fact that it still has rockers at all (and not to mention the super clean wheel wells) is impressive to me.

The rockers, cab corners, and wheel wells tend to rust terribly on these but I’ve never heard any issues with the frames or body mounts.

You must be seeing an illusion because that frame is solid, most of it is still greyish black meaning it still has the factory paint. If you want to see real rust come visit more of the midwest. Most GM’s of this era around here make this one look nearly brand new and have been driving around for years without

This truck is way too clean for me to suspect rust, usually this generation of GM truck has zero rockers and rotted fender wells. Based on the way the bed looks I’m willing to bet it’s a cheap body lift that failed.

I was trying to find a picture of a modern monstrous camper to lightly pick on the insane capability these trucks have, but then found this one and thought it was a good middle ground. But no, it’s not nearly as pretty.

The Blackwood was kind of useless as a truck though, 2wd only, tiny bed with a semi permanent hard cover, and split barn door style tailgate. I’m not surprised it failed (I still want one though). These trucks give up zero capability, and add all of the luxury.

If you’re gonna go with the big trucks, best find a camper better suited to its capabilities.
