$20M is a lot of money. Surely you could buy a boat and a net for $1M and then pay a crew of 10 $100K each to drag and tow garbage for 19 years, right?

I think demographics plays a large part. And GMs stupid decisions play a large part. The 2010 car was too heavy (3800 lbs), the 2014 redesign was lighter but boring (those tail-lights, ugh), the new redesign is expensive and has too many stupid confusing versions (1Lt, 2Lt, “2.0 Turbo 1Le” ??? wtf is that?).

But I

I WANT to believe. But I don’t.
It will have wireless Qi charging. Otherwise it will be a glass and plastic thing about the size of a $15 dollar stack of singles. Also known as a “stripper’s bounty”

What ever happened to Nokia’s passive charging tech that could grab ambient EM and convert to usable power?
2 - What happened to 3D tech (Sony, I think?) from about 5 years ago on phones? Why do we not have a phone with two cameras at eye-width that can plug onto a VR/AR headset mount so we can walk around looking stupi

I see a lot of critiques of new phones these days discussing the, supposed, myriad of different looks, and all I see is

I’ve looked around, but they are all pretty clunky. And most phones are a touch too big (or at least a poor form-factor for forearms). We need a slightly curved (as Tamales suggested above), ergonomic-banded thing. Maybe with the mic on the underside for calls?
Either way, we are close.

Am I the only one who wants a rectangular smartphone that sits sideways on my wrist? It could be a standalone device so I don’t need a separate gadget.

You put on bowling shoes and they are slightly warm and moist and you just wonder ... who?
Then you return those shoes and see the life-hating schlub behind the counter spritz ‘em with lemon aerosol and then hand ‘em to the next patron to just sliiide on into those bad boys?
....yeah. That. But, y’know, with your ...

Silly computers, they didn’t even tell me that they know what they’ve got!

Suuuure, what could go wrong?

Sooooo, turn him into the antithesis of what he was before? Or just turn him into a piece of sh.t?

They just (18 months or so) put one of these near my house in Gainesville VA, and it is abysmal! It is totally bizarre and snarls traffic to a standstill nearly 24 hours a day. The only way I can imagine it being safer is that now I don’t use that road any more, so ... I’ll get in an accident somewhere else instead?

I’ve asked this once before and gotten no reply, but why does Gizmodo hate Elon Musk so much?
It’s like you guys just sit around the NY office talking smack, seething with hatred, toward the guy. I searched “why Gizmodo hate Elon Musk” but it only brought up a list (all first 10) of Gizmodo (et al) headlines hating on

Please, everyone, for the love safety and keeping your children alive, PLEASE never put your kids in the back of a convertible with no roll bars!
I mean, why even bother with car seats?! Might as well just toss ‘em in the back of a pickup with a blanket. /s

Why are Gizmodo pages all very anti-Musk? I’m rather ambivalent on the topic, but I’m very curious why stories slant so heavily in that one direction.

Why do so many streaming services believe themselves competitive with Netflix by offering 5% of the titles for 80% the price?
I might do this DC junky stream for $2/mo. Never for $8

Any news on what “tweaks” they did to the engine to get more HP? Is it simply raising the rev limit, thereby enabling the HP curve to go higher at its peak? If so, that wouldn’t really affect speed until you get to the higher revs, right?

I don’t know, guys. Plenty of photos on the internet show Butina with more weight on her face than the photo chosen above.
She even has the same earings.

“In the grand scheme of things they don’t really matter.”
True that. Thanks for putting the sensibility in there. I would love to see some data/comparos about which cars and/or mods make the biggest differences in the real world. Like, would a small 4-banger be similarly affected? What if the car had a turbo with a

“placate critics on the right” sounds an awful lot like “appeasement,” which didn’t go well the last time fascism came through en-force, 75 years ago’ish.
