I know ya hate. The last of the Olds rocket engines 403 cu in V8. This was peak American peformance luxury, right har.

To all the comments about “it can’t get the small subsurface stuff” or “stuff will get around it”, I say, maybe but if it can corral and clean up any reasonable fraction it will be worth it.

The TSA is a travesty. The passenger screening process does less than zero to improve security. The body scanners generate false positives at a very high rate. The staffing is under trained and often incompetent.

TSA is creating dangerous targets for potential attacks by congregating large numbers of travellers in the confined space around the “security” checkpoint.

So, how do people get off/out if/when it breaks down halfway to Bakersfield?

If by significantly, you mean almost to a normal/average level, then you’re right. Unfortunately, at this time of year, after a “big” El Nino reservoirs should be at/exceeding max and snow pack to keep them full for next 4 months should be nearly twice what it is.

Northern California was mainly a dud on El Nino rain - particularly in comparison to 1997-98.

I think people are missing the point of Amazon stores. Ultimately, I think they will be more of distributed warehouses than traditional retail stores. Having a stock room in high volume localities will allow Amazon to speed up fulfillment even more - especially if drone delivery pans out.

When I look at the comparison data between 97-98 and now there is what I think a major difference.

Avatar was an ok movie - Pocahontas in blue with tons of tricked out CGI effects, many on the bombastic side.

Ex Machina was a real dud of a film. Way too much expository dialog, characters acting against natural motivations, etc. Very weak overall.

Why don’t football players use these helmets?

Dr. Strangelove, Brazil and Incredibles are not science fiction.
