Seriously, why do people keep insisting with this ridiculous talking point? It’s like complaining that you “have” to pay $300+ dollars for an X1 to play Gears 5. That’s a lot of money for one game!

It would be hilarious if instead of talking about specs and performance and numbers, they just said “actually, nevermind that - here’s a list of all the AAA exclusives we’re going to drop on it next year”.

Having metal objects shatter every couple minutes felt natural to you? I have seen many people defend it’s durability mechanic but “it felt natural” is certainly not one I’d heard before. Different strokes, I guess....

Was really hoping some version of Xbox SeX would stick as the name for this one.

That chest hair looks surprisingly...tactile. 😏

I assume that it's because it's the internet and the internet is powered by hate and anger.

Fair enough, I just assumed that's where you were coming from because that's what the article's author said. I certainly think the new art looks better but can't exactly argue that it looks all that good.

Pretty sure that’s nostalgia talking cuz, as someone who has never even heard of this game before, the original looks much cheaper and crappier to my eyes than the new ones. I’m sure someone will say the original is more “charming” or whatever but they just look old and crappy to me.

And it is made, of course, by Europeans. Of course.

Your point would have been much better received if you could have delivered it with a bunch of insults and a shitty attitude. Maybe try not to be a dick next time you try and share thoughts about how people should live their lives.

Science is the best.

“Let’s do something really original.” Still, that didn’t stop him from later telling me that one of the best ways to think of Outriders was “Diablo with guns.”

In what way is comparing it to TV (or book series, where this is extremely commo ) disingenuous? This seems very much the equivalent of waiting for the next season of a show you watched, or the next novel in a series you read. “We’re not used to that in our medium” isn't a great argument for why it is a bad thing when

Gawd, who would want to start a new story when it’s just a part of it, and you don’t know how it will take to finish it, if it ever finishes at all!

It took me so long that I almost gave up, assuming him not being visibly there was the joke.

To my understanding, Apple themselves are funding these games so they can make them and hopefully stay afloat without going the standard microtransaction route.

Everybody understands that that's how things have turned up working. That doesn't mean anybody has to like it.

Tangential question for the comment section - I’ve never played any of these CRPGs but I’m very curious about Divinity 2. I’m holding back because I’m usually allergic to games that require a lot of reading through text and dialogue. Considering that, what are the odds I would enjoy the game?

What?

Surprised at how much resistance this post got considering you’re basically stating something obvious - the pursuit of ever more realistic graphics obviously has diminishing returns. If the end goal is to be able to create perfectly photorealistic worlds in real time, the current gen is maybe let’s say 70% there. The
