This is a good thing. I came to both Witcher 2 and 3 about six months after release and was rewarded for waiting. Both games had received substantial patches (not to mention mods) from CD Project Red that made them better. I planned on waiting on this too. Now it's coming out in the busy fall release window, so Read more

Since they don’t share watch numbers, you can never be sure how well a Netflix original is actually doing. The fact that they made this shows they’re deeply invested, and that maybe the show is (hopefully) a success. This makes me happy, I am down for more of this show.

Good to know. I neglected to mention my 8-year-old presses way too damn hard on controllers...so that could be contributing to it. I have literally heard my PS4 controllers creak like a pirate ship under his vice grip.

If Nintendo did this with the pro controller I’d buy one so fast. I’ve had two joycons drift on me. I even cracked one open and fixed it with parts from Amazon and it STILL succumbed to drift after a few months. Read more

Capcom’s got so much more than just Resident Evil. If not Dino Crisis, give me a new PowerStone!

Timing-wise I think a sequel to Horizon makes the most sense as far as exclusives go. Or they could go really big and bring out Spider-Man 2 for an early 2021 release.

The GiantBomb quick look Zack mentioned is filled with unintentional disaster. Some truly hilarious moments of a game breaking in the best way. I wouldn’t put any money down for it, but I’m charmed by the game just because of that video.

I’m still early on, but I feel like I get overwhelmed by the enemies pretty quickly. It sucks to die because the load time for the respawn is super long. Despite that I’m really digging it. The Stephen King meets X-Files meets Men In Black vibe of everything is extremely my jam.

That’s the beauty of playing games on PC. There are some people who have modded in MORE obstacles to getting around, all in the name of making it more authentic. Others have made it into what I’m looking for, essentially an Uncharted style game (but with narrative choice). I really enjoy it every time I come back to Read more

Absolutely. I’m no purist. I think encumberance, weapon degradation and potion making add nothing to the game (that goes for most games that have these systems). When I have limited time to play, I don’t want to spend the bulk of it fussing around in menus to make a potion that will help me swing my sword harder at a Read more

If you look at my Witcher 3 saves it tells the story of a man who has made the promise to finish that game every year for the last four years. Started it back up recently after borrowing some Witcher comics from my library app. Then I thought I’d finally beat the game before the show came out. Read more

This movie was like watching the final season of Game of Thrones: some stunning effects and a few genuinely fun character moments, buried under a messy plot and nonsensical fan service. Just like GoT, I left feeling disappointed, but also relieved to be done. Read more

I wonder that as well. Jumanji had a bunch of gaming stuff in it that I was delighted by that went over my wife’s head. She still really enjoyed the movie though, so maybe they’ll pull it off here too.

Totally, which is why I’m kind of into this. I remember YEARS ago reading an interview with him and they were asking for his favorite show, book, movie, then video game. And on that last one he was like, “I can’t think of a bigger waste of time than video games.” I remember that quote because I was like, “lol, ok Read more

Oh yeah I don’t think it’s all CEOs, and I agree with your assessment that rapid growth without training can be really bad. There’s lots of research out there on the special brand of crazy of founder-CEOs, especially ones that only ever worked at their own company. They have a tendency to buy into the myth of their Read more
