yeah seriously, they prepared that food specifically to save you the effort since they know you have a newborn baby and things are hectic enough as is. having to sit down, write a note, mail the note, entirely defeats the purpose.

sure that’s fair. i really have no problem with getting super amped about this save, its awesome and lucky and that’s fine. this was perhaps a bad context for me to voice my annoyance with announcer coverage of goalies, since it’s not at all the scenario im thinking of in that.

goalie is for sure a hard position, it’s one of my favorite positions to watch for sure. and 100% there’s a lifetime of developed skills, knowledge/awareness and muscle memory that allows goalies to be in the correct position as much as they are.

i’ve watched it plenty. it’s very incredibly lucky. him following the puck with his eyes doesnt change the fact the puck happened to go where his paddle was the entire time. if the puck had been shot anywhere other than the exact place he happened to have his stick, no way he would have gotten to it in time, despite…

why will most people tell you it was a Monday? i mean i could see people not knowing, i remember being in class, so i know it was a weekday, but i wouldnt be able to tell you what day it was to save my life.

im not denigrating the position of goalie, and a lot of times they DO make great saves, but also a lot of times they’re just positioned how they’re supposed to be, and someone shoots a puck and it hits them, without them moving, and the announcers go wild.
