I will error on the side of when someone is clearly not in a great mental state, and is charging you - they could overtake you, take your weapon and harm you. They could be high on drugs and you would have no idea of what is going on in their head. This is a tough one because there is no imminent danger - but with the

Any of our detectives out there want to find his address. It would be great to send him a bunch of shit sandwiches for the next few months.

I was thinking it would be great to find out this guys address and to get everyone shipping him shit sandwiches.

So this guy gets off on a technicality. This is what is wrong with the world. If I am the Chief of Police, I am looking for any fucking slip up to can this guy. I think the worst trait the police can have is not having basic fucking respect and dignity for other human beings - regardless of their circumstances.

Again, he didn’t need to be shot. Taser would have worked well - just because one wrong was happening, doesn’t mean two wrongs should. She messed up, just like him - and there are consequences.

Yeah, I can see how it happened, I really can - but it does not excuse her from the consequences. Just because she didn’t mean to, does not mean she just gets to walk away unscathed. Also, why fight the cops at that point when you know you have warrants, don’t have insurance etc? It’s just stupid, take your medicine.

Fighting the charges is what you need to do! How can you let the poor treatment of homeless, mental ill and the general public not be a police right. Sounds like you are the problem!

Jesus - the dehumanizing of people is such a vile, evil and hateful thing. I can’t even image doing this to another human being. My blood boils when I hear the occasional person say something slightly negative to a homeless person. The lack of compassion, and being able to treat another person like an actual human is

I didn’t realize he was already a cop and transferred to another department because of the civil rights violations. Maybe I completely misread. When I read it, it seemed like he was new on the job. In this case - fuck that guy. However, I think overall - a lot of these cops are not trained enough in actual on duty

That’s not what I was saying - the training they receive isn’t on the street (rarely) and they send these guys out with a gun. They should be like a trades apprentice. For example in Ontario where I live, to be a plumber (which is a great job) but does not have the same responsibility of a police officer you need “ 9,0

I don’t doubt he is remorseful. Most people do not want to kill others. However, when you make a MASSIVELY EGREGIOUS ERROR - there are repercussions.  This is what happens when police are not trained properly, are scared and are not shown the ropes. Unlike almost any other profession, these guys should have to put in

All you had to do was tell me his name was “ Barney Gattie “, from Georgia and I could have told you he was a racist. No Supreme Court needed.

This made me laugh - and I shouldn’t have, but I have literally heard this excuse a 1000 times before. I understand when people get angry and maybe blurt out something that they literally didn’t mean at the time. BUT.......when you yell out a slur, go for the low hanging fruit of calling someone fat etc, you clearly

Ugggghhh, I feel like I would have been happy with any other match up as a Spurs fan. I feel like we will win or tie the Premier league game, but get crushed like 12-2 in goal differential in CL play - or get crushed in all three.

Outside of the obvious tongue in cheek of this story, it really should be noted that police are public servants, and anything you say (within reason) no matter how offensive or gesture to them is completely legal. They are supposed to work for us, but they do not have magical super powers that allow them to arrest of

If you are gonna be something, at least stand up and own it. What a fragile, weak man. I can respect someone for at least sticking to their cause even if I think it is wrong. But I cannot respect someone who runs away like roaches with the light on when exposed.

Completely didn’t know “Rag it” was a term. I played at a high level and I have never heard that term. We always said “Kill it” as in waste time on the penalty kill, skating around.” My apologies x1000

I am well aware of the words that are used on the ice, however if the NHL actually cared - they wouldn’t wait for broadcasts to pick up the word. It seems ridiculous that they care only when a TV mic picks it up. I hate fake social causes - if you don’t really care - fine,  just don’t lie to me. If you don’t want that

One thing that stands out to me here is that we probably wouldn’t be talking about this if the mic didn’t pick it up. Think the refs should report that kinda stuff, no?

Hahahahahahahah........ I’m a Leafs fan, but I hate our fan base. I don’t want my best D-man suspended either, but you say shit like that - you deserve it. “Rag it” - who has ever said that before?
