Excellent photos, especially the close-ups.

$8-10k - Restoration to like-new condition for my '85 STE

That front end looks like ass. GMC has some of the most ghastly fronts in the business this year.

In case anyone didn't already know: 1985 6000 STE. Still have it in the garage and plan to get it fixed and roadworthy again.

@will: But now the blinker fluid will drain out!

I've never seen a Prius accelerate fast, except when my grandma drives hers. I've never exceeded 78mph driving her car, and she tsk-tsked me for it. It's the only car I've ever floored from a stop and noticed no appreciable difference in the acceleration versus a normal takeoff.

It's not my fault. I've had a nonstop subscription to Motor Trend for eight years.

I think I like this idea. Once people see these things as cop cars — that can actually catch them — maybe they'll finally want to buy one.

@oddboxalfa: His wife went into labor, but the labor union went on strike.

Does anybody ever keep their Overhauled cars? Seems like any vehicle that gets fixed up or Pimped on TV ends up on eBay or craigslist soon afterward.

@Murilee Martin: Just like how no teenage girl today would pine for something mundane like a Corolla or a Jetta?

My 1985 Pontiac 6000 STE is named Kay. A friend coined the name after I kept referring to him as my 6K. Yes, Kay is male. No wonder why he's been hiding in the garage since last summer.

Some folks say the Mantide grows on you.

Never.

Funny how many Jalopnik videos don't work by the time I get to them.

My grandmother drives a blue 2002 Prius. She got it because it was smaller, more efficient, easier to drive and park than her 1997 Chrysler Cirrus. And according to her, it's cute. She also wants to be "green" with it, but that's probably a side effect from going to a very liberal church where about 25 of the members

I like how they have absolutely no information on the base model.

@FuzzyPlushsnail: It has a hatch, and it's slow like a lot of European hatchbacks. Steering feel not necessarily guaranteed.

It needs a dealer-installed Pikachu zigzag tail to attach to the rear hatch.
