Most people can live perfectly happy normal lives without ever knowing what a nazi dogwhistle is.”

1000% on the callout of the fucking cheapest, shittiest, hackiest impulses of these braindead dickbags making edgelord horror crap.

At this point there are two things that should be standard to first party controllers yet aren’t:

I’m honestly a little flabbergasted that somebody could talk about the state of turn-based RPGs in 2017 and not even mention Dragon Quest XI.

I’ll never be able to stop getting a laugh at the fact Twitch is filled with hundreds of millions of gaming videos of depictions of heinous acts of horrific violence, cruelty, war crimes, etc.... but holy hell SHUT IT ALL DOWN! THAT’S A BOOB! SHUT IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY! CODE RED! CODE RED!

I’m conflating the business tactic of sneakily advertising to children while being able to plausibly deny such a thing is happening.

And ultimately this goes back to personal responsibility, which is at the heart of any addiction.

at least three of the games mentioned are meant for an age group above that of the child. So you can cross those off the list of “marketed to children”.

TL;DR? Let me make it simple. “I’m special and the rules don’t apply because I found a term that makes me sound special "
