Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

Oh God, I broke the number one rule of being a Chosen Person!

I’m Jewish and I loathe New Year’s Eve. So when we would schedule shifts for work, I would always quietly and humbly volunteer take the Christmas and New Year’s Eve slots, saying that other people should be with their families. Because it seemed so generous, I was pretty much given my pick of the other days off. I was

Every time I see cheesecake on a menu my blood pressure rises a few points.

If non-BCC’d group party emails doesn’t win it all, there is no justice in this world.

And I ask, again, why ask if you don’t think he should say yes? No one said he demanded. I’m saying the very fact that he wants to ask is inappropriate.

In my mind, there is no point in asking for something unless you think it’s a reasonable thing to do and that your request should be granted. I wouldn’t go up to my boss on my first day on the job and ask for a promotion because it would be unreasonable adn I don’t deserve it. Why ask if you don’t think he should say

To be honest, even knowing they’re bat shit Republicans, I can’t really believe they’re so blatantly admitting that they’re just not going to do their job. I thought they’d drag their feet, not just openly and proudly state that they’re sitting on their thumbs.

You’re far more generous in your interpretation of his words than I am.

I disagree with but respect anyone who feels that way and would defend that perspective even if Cruz or Trump won and was set to put an anti-choice, anti-gun control, anti-gay rights, anti-women’s rights justice on the bench. Enough of the double standard that governs our political system.

It doesn’t matter what the timeline is? If he asks at all, he’s saying that the incoming person has the right rather than Obama.

When he is president, that’s his right. When he would be making that request of Obama, he would be president elect which, as far as I know, gives him zero powers. You described what he’s asking — I’m saying he has no right to ask it.

That’s exactly right. Except your conclusion. He is not the new president, he is the president elect. It is Obama’s right to back his nominee or put up a new one until they change the damn drapes. Even if they hold the confirmation in January, it is still his call.

I’m totally sure he would support that kind of thing if Trump was the President Elect, too.

Yes, I do. Their argument for stone walling is that the incoming person should do it. He is agreeing that the incoming person should have the right to do it (or, at least, to ask Obama to withdraw his own carefully chosen nominee, something that is part of his job description).

By saying that it would be acceptable to ask him to withdraw the nominee, he’s suggesting that it’s a fluid option and rule, not that it’s firmly placed in the constitution that gives the presidency its power.

This is bullshit. It is outrageous for Bernie to suggest Obama should retract his nominee if he doesn’t pass by November — that’s essentially the Republican argument that the incoming person should decide who goes on the court. And, like them, he only thinks that rule should only apply if it’s his team who wins the

Yup. Had a bad ass career in fashion, then decided she wanted to be green all the time and just up and did it. We should all be so ballsy to embrace our eccentricities (though pretty sure I don’t have one quite like that) in our old age (or younger but probably not if you have to go to court or something doused in a

“She is an artist who makes tiny, finely painted watercolors, and has worked for decades creating hand-painted prints for top clothing designers and manufacturers.”

I’m not backpedaling, because “when you break the law somewhere you will be arrested” was in several of my comments and I stand by my statement. The laws are not worse (given that you can get prison time here for carrying a joint, glass houses). The punishment is, but they are a nation known for such things and he
