“Give me more gentile Romulan couples.”

It’s not like Data could hold grudges.  If anything I bet it was infuriating to Maddox how this robot guy kept just calmly sending him emails.  Power move.

From Memory Alpha:

If you watch the first season of TOS, the humans come off as super-racist and paranoid around aliens most of the time, even with Spock.

Now playing

Exactly. Look at the history of human genetic manipulation. There’s still such a huge stigma centuries after Khan that Bashir almost loses his Starfleet commission.

If half a century of Star Trek stories have taught us anything, it’s that the Utopia the Federation claimed was never truly existed. Or, at least, it only exists as long as people fight for it. Measure of a Man is a perfect example. Starfleet was ready and willing to sell a Starfleet officer with decades of service

Not just White America. Claiming Native ancestry was HUGE in the Black community, especialy in the 80s and early 90s when I grew up. Every single friend I went to school with was *insert % here* Native, and it was almost always Cherokee, probably because we couldn’t name any other tribes. Had nothing to do with

It would have been more interesting if she hadn’t wiperd Noors mind.

I would like to nominate Fiore Brunelli from Star Ocean 5... because I don’t know how she even puts that thing on...

this is never not funny.

The Republican Party has discovered, and has for the last decade ruthlessly exploited, the heuristic that people who only dimly pay attention to politics mistake “bipartisan” for “good”. In normal circumstances, it’s not necessarily a bad heuristic; the assumption is, look, they’ve got their opinion, and you’ve got

I’m surprised they allowed the brunette in.  Seems pretty pretty reckless to allow a non-blonde into the scene here.

We didn’t read the books, and my boyfriend constantly asks why certain characters don’t have daemons. Like at the daemon-slicer-facility, we saw maybe three random daemons? Lyra falls over paralyzed if someone touches Pan, meanwhile in a confined room full of children there’s maybe a bird flying around. They don’t

My favorite thing about James Frain is the absolute delight he takes in reveling in a character’s fucked-upedness. Franklin Mott was an absolute monster on True Blood, but Frain played him with such joyful gusto. And I can’t see Frain without hearing him introduce himself as “Ferrrrdinaaaand” in Orphan Black.

The thing is people actively see any mention of LGBTQ representation as being “pandering” or “explicit” even if it’s perfectly natural (mostly because many just assume everyone is of the majority until explicitly stated otherwise).

This is ultimately a problem with Disney being a giant corporation that expects its major franchise entries to make around a billion dollars at the box office. It’s not just issues of representation, but any kind of daring or bold choices need to be shaved back to maximize profits. Disney will sneak some extremely

Sorry, but this is a bad take. One, “break-ins” normally mean “Car break-ins” which was why the police were “patrolling” the outside of the hotel, probably the parking lot. Two, most people breaking into a hotel (and cars) are not going to be guest themselves, especially if the same hotel has been hit multiple times.

She showed the imbeciles her hotel key, which should have indicated that she was a legitimate paying guest at the hotel, and she told them her ID was in the room, which suggests that she was willing to show the pants-wetting cretins her ID, except she couldn’t just then as she didn’t happen to have it on her person.

Suppose I am a police officer. Suppose I am standing in a hotel parking lot, accompanied with another police officer, and between us we are carrying tear gas spray, tasers, and handguns, at least two of each, not to mention two-way radios with which to call the local police, the state police, a SWAT team, and the

eh depends which part of the medieval you are talking about, the first few years up to the 10th? Yeah quite. After that it goes downhill rapidly. Still not a time you would like to exist in as a woman.
