allow me...

This article is...kind of annoying. She’s not “Canadian Rosa Parks”...wtf kind of weird thing is that to say. Not only is she her own person, but is that “Canadian” qualifier supposed to somehow assert America’s awesomeness or something? These are people, not bacon.

She’s not the Canadian Rosa Parks. She’s Viola Desmond.

I’m not sure how I feel about the vertical layout of the note. I don’t think I like it. That’s not how anybody’s wallets are configured, and it’s going to be so strange when stacked with other denominations.

I think they’re so stupid and a complete slap in the face to all the progress we’ve made. Like they make party decorations that say “bows or baseballs?” its sooooo freaking gender normative, conventional BS.

I was at the Farmer’s Market with my newborn in a front wrap and the goat cheese guy asked me what I had “there” and I said “a baby” and he said “a baby human?” Only time anyone asked me to qualify “baby.” I live in Austin so I suppose there are people walking around with other baby animals strapped to them?

To me, the issue is that it’s not traumatizing to be called a boy or a girl. The issue is when, as a young child, a girl wants to to something and you say, “No that’s for boys” or a boy wants to do something and you go, “That’s a girl thing!”

Any time I think about forcing gender constructs on babbies, I think of this:

It’s not snark. Bobby just mentioned that being rich sounds satisfying, presumably because it allows you to do great stuff for people.

Sorry, where’s the snark?

I never said I got the flu. I had more stomach bugs in a year than I’ve had in my entire life, and was just generally sick. I do think my immune system was compromised and now that it’s had a few years to build up again, I’m more apt to get the shot, but it was a really bad experience.

That’s not entirely true. In BC, unless you have a qualifying medical condition, there is usually a small fee. I had to fill out a form at my pharmacy, and check off my qualifying health conditions, to get a free shot... despite having my health card. This might have something to do with how we’re the only (or one of

Don’t hate me but I never get sick and never get a flu shot. But because of your post a couple of weeks ago, I got my flu shot.

I wish we could charge our local anti-choicers/anti-gay zealots with something, even something as trivial as “being a public nuisance.” As it is, courts have pretty much interpreted the right to freedom of speech as “the right to harass and intimidate as long as it stops short of actual battery.”

Oh no..totally is...it’s why I read the piece and I didn’t find out a thing about him in it!

That’s Paul Reubens with Sharon Stone in the pic on top right? If not it’s a damn doppelganger...

Huh? She gave both obvious verbal and non-verbal cues. And what needs to change is men need to start ASKING for consent, not using a lack of an explicit hard “NO STOP NO STOP!!!” as a way to try to push further.

Umm No. Men should learn/listen to non-verbal cues. We all give them off men included.

Only the Marzipan posts in Barf Bag are more than OK, IMO.
