I’d keep an eye on bringatrailer.com and, you know, keep the paypal acct stocked. You gotta start somewhere. And I can’t think of a better way to get to, uh, the condo building I buy and convert into the multi-level climate controlled garage/resto shop. With a helo pad on top.

Man, I just bought these last week! My third pair. (They’re water resistant, not washing machine resistant.)

Nice sly addition of the fiero

What’s a cash car? (Just haven’t heard that before, sorry!) I’d like to scan for them, see what’s there at different bhph places locally.

Am I the only one who kinda digs the crosstour? And got all excited cause I assumed this was a 3pedal crosstour? Actually to the point of considering buying a new car? Like not a used one?

Nasal phlebotomy?

Wow. I had no idea. God this is a hard business. Seriously.

I’m with you. If nothing went terribly, I’ll give them 10s. There doesn’t seem to be a benefit for anyone otherwise. I’d sooner hang up than waste someone’s time, or mine, and put everyone’s income at risk.

When I think about grams and wind resistance, it makes me think that watching my diet would make a lot more difference than slightly bouncier shoes.

I’m thinking a combination of loss aversion, new car smell, and bubble wrap. Maybe add in affective forecasting (tendency to think something will be way more intense than it probably will be).

Neuwagenkratzenangst. Literally, fear of scratching the new car. Though I’m sure a German would say it better.

Wagenpflegeangst. Literally car care fear. I like that.

Dang, what a fun story! Thank you so much for writing this up. Congratulations on surviving!

I’ve thought along these lines too. I ain’t a scientist. So what I’m buying in these services is expert knowledge to tell me what the results mean. The only way to make that knowledge affordable is to give them ownership of my sample. The fact that the genetic non-discrimination act doesn’t apply to life insurance

“At that price, I wonder what’s wrong with it.” —my wife, who has a couple grad degrees (in science!). Kinda like a Ferrari isn’t expensive to buy; it’s expensive to keep.

Alexander Payne + Charlie Kaufman + Terry Gilliam? Maybe? Please?

He’s got a small part

I feel compelled to share $.02 along with others: slow down. There’s plenty of time to speed up in the second half. (Time in the second half has been known to warp and stretch into as much as a week.)
