I was too! I can’t name a single dem in KY I know that is a Hillary supporter (or at least vocal about it).

Yesterday was the primary in my home state (KY! Yeehaw!) and I have a lot of friends from college who are die-hard Bernie supporters, including many who also post very anti-Hillary rhetoric and have pledged to vote third-party or write-in if she gets the nom, and can’t be convinced that that is very stupid. YOU GUYS last night I had a dream that I was at a concert and Rihanna and Orlando Bloom were there together all cozy in the second row and I was thinking how scandalous and I know this dream was a direct reference to Dirt Bag because that’s the first thing I thought when I woke up
WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUCK
Ooooh I would read that dissertation
PS I like your avatar
It reminds me of when I did theatre in college and every show, without fail, at least one couple would emerge during the course of the production—and then crumble very dramatically months later.

YES. I told randilyn downthread that it’s one of the few times I can remember really having to work to finish a book I’m reading for fun and not for school. Fingers crossed Donna Tartt doesn’t take another ten years to publish a novel because I really love her writing and I want a different new novel from her.
Yeah, I realized shortly after my response, and then I saw them on every other post. It’s like once you’ve got one troll cut down another three spring up and take its place.
Nah, I agree! I didn’t think about people with birthdays so late and the Aus school year. Kneejerk confusion!
That makes sense—I’ll allow it but watch yourself counselor
I basically MADE myself finish it. I can’t remember another time when I’ve worked so hard to get through a book I was reading for pleasure and not for school.
Are Australian school systems weird? Or was she skipped two grades? Because I was in the class of 2007 and I am 27.
What the hell are you talking about? They’re talking about men with cancer and veterans who had their junk blown off in combat and other people who have been in disfiguring accidents. Not dudes who were injured by an attempted assault victim.
I started it once but never finished it (it was when I was in college, Lit major, and barely had time to read for fun)! I’ve got to go back and check it out, because so many people have told me they really liked it.
I said upthread that I so wanted to love The Goldfinch—great concept, but there were parts that were a slog to get through.
Just got it for my birthday, and now I’m not as excited to read it...argh.
Thisthisthis. And I’ve heard people say things like “when you book your catering, don’t say it’s a wedding, say it’s some other kind of party or they’ll charge you triple!”
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROWWWWW
