Re: dollar store containers for organization - they are a good option, but depending on what youre putting in them, they might not be food safe. Maybe it’s overly paranoid but I’d only put jars/sealed containers in those, not loose produce.

I can’t remember where but I’ve definitely had “cheeseburger sushi” at a restaurant before, almost exactly as you describe here. Your neighbor is spot on - confusingly good.

they did this in chicago too, and my bet is that even with the cap expired, they’ll keep doing it

Lake Forest, IL used to have a fancy McDonald’s as well, though it’s since closed. They used to do a sunday brunch, even.

Eh, they’re still addicting, because they’re just passable enough that you think the next one might be good. And then you eat the whole order and realize they were all bad.

I can confirm that the detroit style from Paulie Gee’s is the best thing on the menu. So glad we moved within walking distance now!

>I think lab grown meat solves that issue as well as plant based meat does

We’ve got our McDonald’s order on lock - and McDonald’s has really nailed delivery this last year imo. For the two of us, we do:

Another user rec’d an instant pot which I’ll second. If you’re just cooking for 2, you can even get the mini one for even cheaper, especially if you dont think you’ll use it much after the remodel.

I used to make carbonara fairly regularly, but it was one of those dishes that every time I consulted my recipe for just because. One night I got lazy and decided to wing it. This resulted in the wrong ratio on the egg mixture. Clueless, I followed that up with being too lazy/impatient to wait for the pot to cool

Having lived in or near chicago for most of my life, I’ve always found the italian beef the most overrated of our culinary peculiarities. tavern style, deep dish, Chicago dogs - perfect foods in their own ways (I maintain that tavern style pizza is the platonic ideal for pizza). Italian beef is....fine. Just fine. Hot

Not one mention of cream cheese! That’s the secret ingredient in our house.

The papadia is a definite guilty pleasure. As for the spicy nuggets - also good, but the damn sauce is perpetually out of stock. I’ve yet to try it and I’m still bummed about it

Night of the 2016 election, I remember sitting on the couch with my roommate and both of us realizing when things were starting to turn the wrong way. So went we to the nearest convenience/liquor store. I have a very, very vivid memory of staring at all the liquor and realizing that there was nothing on the shelf that

I have two secrets to perfect french toast that my wife goes nuts for:

Based on the teaser and the description, my guess is the plot will very quickly become “our Earth weapons don’t work here + we ran out of bullets, time to adapt to using giant ass swords made out of teeth”.

This is slander against the bow. My first clear (and only, so far) was with the bow. Point blank shot and one of the Artemis boons that enhances the special were really key to my win in the final area.

This is hugely helpful. Started this last night, maybe my most anticipated game of the year (I think I’ve bought Bastion on three platforms now?). The one thing that is still giving me trouble is all the iconography - this article talks about darkness (purple crystals I believe), nectar (no idea what that one looks

If I didn’t rely on borrowing games from the library to try most new games free, I’d pick this up. <500 USD for a next gen console + a year of game pass and live is a fantastic deal, and I’ve already got a handful of digital titles that can cross over. I don’t care about 4k or higher processing; if it can run the next

I agree the article doesn’t get at it, but as a Goodreads user for over 10 years, I’ve been shopping for an alternative. Why? Mostly the Amazon acquisition. Goodreads’ recommendations used to actually look at your shelves and suggest adjacent items - not always great recommendations, but related anyway. Now, my
