I love how their friendship has evolved. The way she maneuvered Spock into working together with Boimler, and the way she was so excitedly happy for Boimler when Spock gave him the Vulcan greeting. She loves to tease him, but it’s out of genuine friendship.

The first episode can almost be described as character assassination of Mariner, if such a thing is possible before you’ve even been introduced to the character.

Yeah, that had a surprising punch to me. The room got dusty there for a moment.

Can we take a moment to note how great the Cerritos class uniforms look in live action. Definitely one of the best looking StarFleet uniforms and they did a great job translating the animation design into a workable uniform costume. Jack Quaid was brilliant as Boimler in live action too.

Is it a pinup poster?!”

One of the best hours of Trek ever - any series, any era.

As someone in the industry - Book Tok is a Godsend.

It was such a treat as a kid when either Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was on TV. Because that was the only way to see them in the dark ages before we even had VCRs!

That’s so cynical…and 100% accurate.

The Producers was originally a comedy, then they just turned it into a tax law.

It’s almost like the guys in charge don’t give a shit about great art or even straightforward entertainment.

I remember when streaming really kicked in and everyone was all, “Why are you still buying DVDs?!”

Yeah, honestly the fact that they’re giving him super powers doesn’t bug me that much. Lots of characters get changed when they’re adapted to movies and sometimes it works (and sometimes it doesn’t). For me it’s just... y’know, everything else looks bad? Yeah, everything else looks bad.

I’d have loved for them to do something interesting here, rather than this lame schlocky nonsense.

I don’t know much about him either, but based on the trailer it looks like his dad is Zeus so he’s at least a demigod.

Main continuity Kraven is a normal dude, but other versions of him have done everything from making him “genetically enhanced” (super soldier serum kind of thing) to turning him into a furry.

He has enhanced abilities from a potion he regularly ingests. It looks like they’re going a different route for the film. Questionable decision, really. You’d think they could wring some decent tension out of him having to take/get to his potion in time, or even go on dangerous missions to get the rare ingredients he

I may be really behind on Marvel’s continuity, but I thought Kraven was a normie and didn’t have super powers.

Honestly, I don’t even understand the engineering of that haircut.  Not saying it is bad, but I wouldn’t mind a full video on how it is cut and styled.

Excellent write-up on this often underrated movie. It’s one of my — and my 77-year-old mother’s favorite (she’s a disaster flick fanatic) films in that genre. While I agree that Leoni’s initial entry into the plot is slightly lame (for which I am somewhat forgiving as a community newspaper editor myself), she is
