I take it you don't follow golf, so you're excused if you didn't know that Tiger Woods barreled through the competition in his prime because he had physical gifts his competition didn't have. What took three strokes for the average pro to hit the green of a par five, he can do in two or even one.

I can't speak for bowling, but I do know that golf has a lot of strategy that goes into it, only it doesn't translate as well when viewed as a spectator. The lay of the land, how confident you are in hitting a fairway off a long drive instead of playing it safer and go for a medium shot, how the wind will change the

From how I understand Ghostwise's original post, he's not against gaming becoming mainstream, only that it doesn't have to force itself onto ESPN programming alongside more athletic endeavors. Gaming is already mainstream, if we're being honest, and there's a reason why Google is rumored to have already bought Twitch

Not really. People who wear jerseys don't do so in order to look like the player whose jersey they're rocking (disclaimer in next paragraph).

See, e-sports isn't even the most "un-athletic" thing that ESPN airs. I'm wondering where the Twitter rage is when ESPN shows the yearly hotdog-eating competition every fourth of July.

I'll play devil's advocate and ask how Shippoyasha defines fit when he uses the word. Body types can be deceptive and a slim body doesn't exactly mean that it's fit, as well as a big body doesn't mean a person is obese.

That killed me. +1

I wouldn't be against live scores, as long as there's enough flexibility in the resulting site layout that wouldn't intrude with space that's dedicated for blog posts.

Another fine piece. I expected nothing less from you.

"It's much harder to imagine Indiana repeating as conference champions" - Maybe this should read as division champs instead?

For sure, but I don't think that's stopping some teams from making a long reach and hope against hope (not that they'll succeed, of course).

I'm thinking that Cleveland can just wait for Love to hit the FA market next year and make a run for him then. That way, they can bank on Love's "intrigue" (as per reports) with playing with LeBron and they don't lose Wiggins.

If you're reusing, you're stealing.

I don't post much here on DS, but I try to speak online the way I speak in real life, and I'm a diplomatic sort of guy, so there. You're not being rude with your posts, so I don't see why I should be rude to you.

I did the same, as well. Absolutely annoying.

I think your wonderful advice applies to people of all genders. I usually refrain from most things ESPN, but I have this urge to buy this particular issue just for the eff you it directs to body-shaming folk.

I'm thinking that those people mostly just want models to look at, and just ties-in the healthy/fit aspect as an afterthought, or as one of those positive characteristics some people assign to good-looking people.

I think the basic capitalistic premise of someone being worth whatever someone else is willing to pay him applies. We can have our own valuations on how much Fielder is worth, but it's mostly an academic discussion at this point.
