It's still my favorite anime to this day. It also is one of the very few anime I can recommend to non-anime fans as just a great piece of well told fiction. Despite the setting it, (mostly), stays grounded in it's fiction. The music is fantastic but as you said that's like saying that lava is hot or ice is cold.

That was the price of that car in GT5 also. There is also a ford and Ferrari that are priced the same. If the economy is anything like GT5 then you will be able to buy that car as you get deeper into the campaign pretty easily. It will take a couple of hours but you will be able to afford it.

Log Horizon. I know some of you think it's just a ripoff of Sword Art Online but it's very different. The setting is the only thing those two anime have in common. It's really good, give it a try.
