What has a carrier or OEM stopped people from doing, besides AT&T blocking sideloading (though they don't any more)?

Lots of companies were already doing this before Apple started doing it.

I agree, Apple is probably better at this, what with their giant company full of developers vs Vlingos small team. I was just saying that Apple stole someone's idea and improved, and that they didn't invent voice commands. Hell, I had voice commands in Windows 95...

You install apps that kill resources and then blame the OS, which is completely open and lets you install whatever you want? Apps like Meebo keep your phone constantly awake and pulling data. It's necessary for the app to function correctly, but it kills your resources. Why should Android tell you that you can't do

This is borderline slander, is it not? Taking something this out of context in a way that will make people like Android less? Believe it or not, Giz, you have a lot of people that read your shit. You have influence. Be responsible, please.

I think Vlingo already paved the way for voice...

I turned it off because some of the pictures I take would get me banned.

How was Android born of iOS? Android is open-source, open-market, allows side-loading, lets people do whatever the fuck they want. Are you saying because they use icons in rows and columns that they copied the iPhone? Because if that's the case, Apple copied Palm.

The difference is Google isn't suing the pants off Apple for using their notification system and multitasking. This is the real problem with Apple. They want to kill anyone who out-innovates them, which will kill innovation in the market, and somehow they are succeeding. They don't want to win by making things better.

Android doesn't just run the apps. It's always got other things running in the background. If you installed some shit that kills your resources, it could be running any time. Don't blame the OS.

Apple has been known to withhold certain updates so that they will have something new for their next version, which will make people more inclined to upgrade every year instead of every two years. 4 years might be pushing it, like you said, but still, it's kind of a douchey move.

Will you paint a giant brofist where the fists meet at the net and lightning shooting out all around?

OMG look at how ugly Android is. It's so ugly because only iOS is the prettiest.

Yeah, I have wifi tether, but I don't want to use it as much as I would need to with my tablet out of fear the carrier would catch on. It also destroys my battery and unless I underclock, my phone gets hotter than the surface of the sun.

Protesting GE because the government let them get away with that seems silly to me. People need to stop blocking our roads and wasting taxpayer money and start blaming the government and their prophet Obama.

47% pay no income tax and 14% pay no income or payroll taxes. I give over 25% of the money I make to these people. And I don't even make very much. Demanding that the top 1% that pays 40% of all taxes pay more is just fucking idiotic. Wanting to live off of other people's hard work is equally idiotic. And you are

"In addition the resources these large corporations use are our fucking resources. our streets, our subsidized electrical grid, our subsidized phone network. We paid for all this shit so some asshole could charge use 99 bucks for a fucking cell phone plan and pay the workers that maintain it $11 an hour while he gets

So why protest the companies and not the shitty government that let them get away with it, and who take their bribes and donations for votes in their favor? Instead of trying to get the rich people to change (trust me, they don't give a shit what you think), wouldn't it be more effective to force the government to

What exactly am I paying $30/month for? Because last I checked, even with heavy usage I've never hit any kind of cap. The same is not true on my Xoom, however, where I am charged extra if I go over 1GB.
