When their unions strike, our union will stand with them. The bosses want you to pretend this is about “all the people.” It’s not. It’s about cheating actors and writers. Labor stands together.

Or…fuck that contract. She has lawyers.

Oh no. Not her CONTRACT. That’s clearly way more important than her reputation and worker’s rights. She might have to get another gig, which is obviously utterly devastating to people in TV and never happens.

Scab.

The utter hubris of thinking/believing that your show, and your ‘content’ is so compelling that it just has to be made–without any regard for the people in the industry as a whole that make it possible–is reprehensible. The self-absorption alone is just stunning.

No. We should have solidarity with workers, especially when it’s someone who has relied on these specific workers for their livelihood since childhood. Give a little back for fucksakes! She’s had a life of unimaginable wealth and privilege while the little people fight for the scraps.

Stand WITH them instead of your

do you tell your players not to say “okay” at the table too?

oh yeah! i was also joking/being sarcastic. sorry that didn’t come through via forum post lol

what makes you think that i don’t write, play, and get hired to create games my darling sugar lump

Umm I don’t know if this is being combative to my statement but I am on your side. Just pointing out how some comments reinforce the title of the article lol

i would not mind the skins over stats tbh, like why not?

Here we go, now THEY’RE the victims because they “like” something. Not because of the harm that has come to POC who actually want to like/enjoy games without racism. Our money is green too you know?

Not at all surprised by the comments on an article about a nerdy thing being racist/having racist undertones

to quote a source “I can smell the fear on the designers”

if they mean species why don’t they use the word ‘species’ or ‘creature types’? why do they have to make it about race??

i mean, why not?? like what’s so bad about creating an RPG where decisions have narrative weight??

first like, just i think it’s worth saying that imo and in my games killing people shouldn’t be the default or be dismissed because ‘they’re bad’ because uhhhh moral quagmires are important, i guess. also if you need to justify murder (whew boy) just say they’re bad people because they’ve killed people, you don’t need

we do not need to say that entire races as evil especially when those races have been racially coded as minorities throughout the history of D&D. this isn’t that hard.

bc D&D is way more popular than pathfinder and has experienced massive gains in cultural currency in both thte ttrpg and the general media space like that’s so weird why we would want a super popular product to be respectful

we live in the real world, and no fantasy exists in a vacuum, thinking that there are simple, easy compartments for fantasy vs reality where this is absolutely no bleed at all is ridiculous when media is such an important part of our storytelling tradition like, as a species.
