These are scary times for those of us who remember what a protectionist car market looked like in the 70s and early 80s until we started breaking down the barriers to unrestricted auto trade. I can’t believe a supposedly conservative president is dragging us backward.

I drove the new Camaro and was disappointed by the steering feel - this is a big advantage the new Mustang has over the Camaro in my opinion. I tend to be disappointed by steering in nearly all new cars these days (except the 4C).

Actual conversation:

Alfa is making the same mistake by not offering a manual that Fiat made by not exporting more manual 124s (especially of the luxury models). Now automatics are languishing on lots while many are having to travel to get a manual in an attractive color. The primary market for Italian cars in the US is former Italian

A few years ago after having owned over 70 cars by my last count, I asked myself which car I would have back.

Driver of the day has to go to Verstappen - outstanding and fair defense of Hamilton, who was driving a much faster car, and 30 seconds ahead of Ricciardo (in an identical car). It’s getting harder to argue that Verstappen isn’t the best overall driver in F1 today.

Don’t forget the manual turbo Golf!

I really enjoyed this, very well written. Now, you have to answer a question for the Jalops - can you actually drive an air-cooled 1981 Bus on the freeway without feeling frustrated and unsafe?

I talked my mother, who is in her 70s and an environmental activist, into buying a diesel Jetta wagon. She loved the car, but obviously feels like VW betrayed her. We went to a Toyota dealer to look at the new Prius and she could not bring herself to buy the car - despite her previous positive brand experience with

I recently saw one displayed outside the Penske museum in Scottsdale. It is stunning in person. I wouldn’t even recognize it from the photo.

Driving a sports car through sand - that is a perfect description.

I’ve driven a lot of cars, and I’ve never enjoyed these. They are durable, but not reliable. Beautiful, but not athletic (at all). Heavy with wheezy engines.

Hey, that’s my car! I need to drive it to work today..

I’d be fine with requiring them to only sell air-cooled rear-engined cars

I own a 2010 Tundra. I wanted to buy a Ridgeline in 2010, but it wouldn’t tow my Porsche or my travel trailer. With a 6,500 lb towing capacity, I’ll likely buy one next year because I hate the driving dynamics of the Tundra and the Tacoma and think it will be a better value than the Colorado. I’ll bet there are at

Don’t forget you can get a manual 3.6 new Camaro on the same chassis for $25k, which is a much more satisfying engine/transmission than the 2.0T manual.

I live in Ransom Canyon and see Bruno’s home every day. It is better in person than in the poster’s original photos. Definitely worth stopping especially at sunset. The house overlooks a picturesque lake in a canyon that drops a few hundred feet below the 3,000 ft. West Texas caprock.

First, kudos - finally a well written car review on Jalopnik. If you haven’t addressed things like clutch pedal feel, you shouldn’t be writing for a car enthusiast site. Please do more of these.

God, I hate Japanese car design

I was actually going to post the Mazdaspeed 3 here - a complete disappointment and I love Mazdas and hatchbacks. The GTI/WRX/Focus ST are so much better.
