I agree with you regarding workers asking if you want to continue.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone at my store ask that.  People usually just volunteer it.

Tips all go into a general pool and split between all the workers based on the hours worked that week.  I am unsure of the digital tips, but I assume it’s the same as the cash.

It can also really make the day of the person behind you. I’ve had people break down at the gesture because they just needed a win.

I work there part time as my, get the fuck out of the house, job. I’ve never asked anyone if they want to continue the chain. All I do is say the person in front of you paid for your coffee. More often than not, they ask to pay for the car behind them.

There isn’t anything that stops firefighters or police from having side hustles here.  I know more than a few that double up or work as emt’s etc...  Police that work as off duty security. 

It’s for public service, so think police, politicians, mailmen, etc...  Likely to help stem corruption.  While I agree with you for firefighters, I understand it for police, mailmen, etc... but that’s just because I just can’t imagine how firefighters could be used to run a scam without the whole department being in…

I’m in the same boat. I’ve never liked the gym but because I like to fight and played football it was a necessary evil. Is it really so strange that some people just don’t like working out? I don’t feel good afterward, I’ve never gotten that high people talk about. It doesn’t make me feel any better afterward.
