Wat Da Fug
v335760

As a lawyer, I agree that you’re right on the standards of evidence. Shocking that you think that the absence of charges automatically verifies the truth of the accusations. At this point, there are about 15 people that know for sure what happened that night. You’re not one of them. Neither am I. I’m always shocked

As a fellow lawyer, let me remind you that we typically do not dole out punishments in the absence of proof beyond reasonable doubt. It is perfectly reasonable to protest against the lack of due process in this instance. The players believe these men innocent and no court has proven otherwise, so why would they not

I have gotten to the point where I withhold judgement immediately on these from being burned many times both ways. Thought Duke case was a slam dunk they were guilty and was wrong, thought Bill Cosby was innocent (years back when it was just one allegation and lots of people defending) and was wrong. Been right a few

At least for the last guy, sure.

Icing On The Cake

First they came for the Jews, and I said nothing.
Next they came for the blacks, and I said nothing.
Next they came for the gays, and I said nothing.
Next they came for the Mexicans, and I said nothing.
Next they came for the baseball writers, and I said “BY GOD THE SANCTITY OF THE HALL OF FAME MUST BE DEFENDED!!!!”

Some people just REALLY want to get out of Detroit.

OK.. this is NOT Comcast.. it’s a subcontractor with the comcast logo on the side - jeez.

I really hope the Mets don’t waste a camp invite on someone who has proven he can’t play baseball at the Major League level. I get that he’s a really nice guy and used to be a famous star, but this whole David Wright spectacle needs to come to an end.

Showing againwhy there is no debate about who the best player in the world is. It’s Crosby, and it’s Crosby by a large margin. I hate him. I absolutely hate him. At the same time I love to watch him play which only makes me hate him more. It’s hysterical that there are people who try to argue that Jonathan Toews is in

The issue is a play like that was called a penalty last year between Green Bay and Detroit. The 65 yard hail mary doesn’t happen if the ref doesn’t call a penalty on that play. And the contact there was minimal at best to the actual face mask and helmet.

Slippery slope. If the rule exists it needs to be applied properly every time or you’re left with chaos. Or as I like to call it: the current state of officiating in the NFL.

Sometimes I feel like Crosby is underrated. And I’m a god damned Bruins fan.

Don’t blame me. I wanted to sign Kodos.

Fuck CNN

So Justin Verlander got his girlfriend to say mean things to baseball writers. And his brother’s going to tell them off too. That will show those writers not to fuck with Justin Verlander.

Oh for god’s sake. No one is arguing that non-voters don’t have the LEGAL right to complain. The argument is that they lack the MORAL right (i.e., justification) to complain. Which I suspect you understand perfectly well.

Alright, let us rephrase for you. I’ll add a clause so you can get it through your skull.

They absolutely do not; refusing to vote is not a statement in any active sense of the term--it is passive acceptance of decisions that others will make for the silent person.

To abstain from voting and then whine about the result is the very epitome of entitled, privileged bullshit. “I don’t like the game, so I’m not

No they don’t. They’re the most culpable.
