Agree there are a lot of monuments but just wanted to highlight that some on that list are just historical markers. The ones in Illinois are for POWs who dies in camps and the general one in Bentonsport, IA is just a rock with a plaque on it. The second Iowa one is for a minor battle so it’s not like Iowa and Illinois Read more

I just wanted to add that the fantastic academic historical work “The Confederacy as a Revolutionary Experience” would be a real eye opener to all these neo-Confederate jokers. Emory M. Cassius Clay, both the Kentucky abolitionist and the famous boxer named in his honor as well as Anita Baker and Bayard Rustin for my top choices.

Yeah, the tool lacks context. The “Iowa Conferate General” is just a stone with a plaque saying a future general and Texas governor was born in the town. More of a historical marker than a memorial.

I like to put the cheese on the bottom bun (or if at a restaurant eat it upside down) so the cheese hits my tastebuds before meat, thus maximizing the cheesiness.

Iowa and Illinois both have it...cant go above the speed limit when passing. On a two lane country road it is 55 so if someone is doing 45, it takes forever to pass at 55. Why is it safer to be in the passing lane for 20 seconds then it is to burn that slowpoke and hit 75 for like 2 seconds?

I wasn’t dismissing what you were saying but building on it, mainly touching on WHY Denver got the Nordiques when they relocated. Without the history of hockey, I’m not sure Denver would’ve gotten Quebec’s team.

Denver University is a college blue blood and Colorado College is a multiple title team plus Denver had a previous NHL franchise, IHL franchise, and the Spurs across several leagues. The Avs were huge with those cups but let’s not totally ignore the long legacy of hockey in the state.

Can this be a full time promotion? I swear my Hawkeyes are 0-75 when she’s on the call for some reason.
