The person I was replying to said that Bernie was a social democrat and that social democrats can win without the black vote. I replied if that was true, then Bernie would be in the general right now because he definitely ignored the the black vote and was labeled a social democrat by the original poster.

A social democrat could win by not ignoring black votes.

Socialism in this country is rife with racism. When Sanders was blowing off the black vote, that was historically on trend.

I feel no such regret. Socialism in this country goes hand in hand with racism. The first unions were white only. The New Deal only got passed because there were statutes in place that kept non-white people from fully getting advantage of those programs (aka redlining).

There are none, so Turner doesn’t lose any “moral standing” because all of them — from the men to the women to the children — support a system where people are property.

There are different cuts a movie has. Maybe they saw a different cut. I don’t know. I think people are definitely judging it on a curve because of Parker’s past. But I also think people are expecting much more in way of action that that is not this movie.

If you saw Django Unchained I wanted 20 minutes similar to when Jamie Foxx goes gun crazy and starts shooting everyone in the house while Tupac is playing. Django Unchained is a horrible movie, but those sequences are shit. I was hoping BOAN would do that.

There are no innocents in slavery. That’s the point. There is another movie that fits this story, Defiance. It’s about Jewish concentration camp survivors fighting Nazis. There is no quarter given for “conflicted Nazis” or people just “swept up” in the Nazi Youth. They are all evil.
