As a native southerner I cringed so hard over that accent when I first saw the Forrest Gump trailer, but Hanks is so natural with it that it’s almost like subtitles - you get used to it after about five minutes. Speaking of understatement, his best moment is when Jenny tells him he’s the father of his son, and his

pirates?????

The way Cameron used him as audience surrogate was masterful. He gets to ask all the “But what about...?” questions instead of us getting a long-form exposition dump. And his silent reaction to finally seeing the T1000 in action is how pretty much anyone would respond: “this...cannot be happening.”

Yeah the “no cape” rule was really the main problem with the show. They even moved to him being a superhero with the “Blur” and had the actual Justice League (minus Batman but with Green Arrow weirdly written to replace Batman). They clearly wanted to just do Superman at that point and the dumb rule did no one any

Yeah, kinda feels like after Season 4, they should have moved the show completely to Metropolis as the setting with Clark being the titular “Smallville” of the title now, as he went to college and all that.

Rosenbaum was a great Luthor. He really keyed into the idea of someone so messed up by his childhood that he just doesn’t know how to be a normal person. Even when Lex tries to do good things (and he genuinely wants to help his friends a lot of the time), he always does them in the most ruthless way possible, and

I loved season 1, but to me and my friends, the quality went down noticeably even in just s2.

Your audience hated “will they, won’t they” relationship bullshit in 2001, too. Nobody has ever liked “will they, won’t they” relationships except the writers’ room because they can extend what should be a two season job into an eight season job by the end of which time, everyone in the room and the audience hate

As an Australian who used to live and work there, no one wants to go see anything with the name Canberra.

Jem and Okona (one of my bottom-5 TNG) levels of outrageous? Truly an outrageous fortune!

It even hits Okona levels of outrageous.

And yet people accept Avatar’s premise without complaint? This is outrageous. Like “Jem and the Holograms” outrageous. It even hits Okona levels of outrageous.

I wrote an essay about “Vienna” for a Philosophy class in college.  It’s long ago that I don’t remember what it was about.

“oh, my vagina”? I assume there’s some context, but I can’t imagine what it could be.

I’m going to have to assume you don’t see a lot of movies. Black Adam wasn’t a great movie by any stretch, but it was serviceable popcorn stuff. Probably above average by post-Nolan DC standards.

My dad had a Saab! When are they going to get their due in 80s nostalgia pieces?

Hahaha, I love that one! I would have called bullshit, but then spent weeks secretly wondering.

Haha, that’s fantastic.

Thought it was pretty obvious from her hit single Rock Me, Ardmoredeus.
