I listened to about 5 minutes of a podcast interview he did for his new book. He did not come across as ... swift. It was honestly hilarious, he thought he was being profound but sounded like the guy from Veep trying to explain his “takers” philosophy. Or even the Secretary of Defense on that show talking about

I think it was actually Sanders who prevented Obama from filling most of those seats.

I haven’t started watching this show yet but that is some of the worst costume work I’ve seen in a long time. It looks like an SNL skit up there.

The President doesn’t have the power to simply replace the Postmaster General.

Why “of course”? Have we all just been sitting around talking about how sure we were that Netflix was going to make a Blockbuster show?

I watched that segment of Homemade. My God was it terrible.

This used to be a country where we made things. Now we’re just sitting around with our dicks in our own mouths.

One of the major stations (top 3?) in Metro New York in the 2000's had the line, “and absolutely no rap”.

Always love to see Richard Kind. He had a great role in the last episode of Man Seeking Woman as God. The peevishness and pettiness of the character and what Kind brought to it was a perfect combination.

Seinfeld has also had an amazing post Seinfeld career. Comedians in Cars was hugely successful, so was that bee movie he made, he’s still one of (if not the) most famous standups alive and his American Express commercials made him bank. He’s a billionaire through his own efforts.

I mean, the shows have had plenty of trans male characters but no trans women as far as I can remember up until now.

I’m still a couple episodes back but the headline is spot on. Relationship arcs that could last a season are dealt with in 1.5 episodes (in mostly unsatisfying ways).

That’s the reason I expect as well, but it seems odd to do something that’s both disingenuous, and makes the contestants look like a bunch of weirdos.

Regarding your third stray observation, for some bizarre reason on this show, while the competition takes place over two days they have them wear the same clothes each day.

They seem to have ramped up how terrible Bette is this season from last year or even the previous series. The way she talks to Gigi in the episodes I’ve seen, the way she treats Carrie (great job by O’Donnell in this role), etc. make her highly unlikeable.

I thought Montoya was pretty miscast. Stephanie Beatriz or Michelle Rodriquez or probably half a dozen others would have been better.

Are Denis Villeneuve and Chris O’Dowd brothers, or what?

I’m still a couple of episodes back but I wanted to comment on one of the funniest things I’ve seen in weeks. Finley cry scooting down to the liquor store was, unintentionally, hilarious. Will Ferrell should steal that for a bit.

I don’t 100% remember everything in season 1 but I overall found Sophie to be the more difficult one in the Dani/Sophie relationship. Dani was closed off, but Sophie demanded processing at every moment.

Some actors can get away with playing younger (see Derry Girls, where one of the actresses was already in her 30's when the show came out, and the rest aren’t very young either) but this guy looks 10 years older than he actually is.
