Seems like it is a Netflix sponsored post. Could be worse,it could have been an autoplay video ad.
It’s not a good one.
First, your assumption is the topic of the article - accident rates are only one tool, and only a tool when the driving miles are equal, where in this case they are not. And without accurate data, we can’t assume the rates are actually lower.

This is an opinion piece, dawg, not a newspaper article. You should be ashamed of yourself for being a shitty reader.
semi-autonomous is just a terrible idea. It needs to be either autonomous or human driven. Pretending that people will continue to pay close attention as the car drives itself until a situation comes up ignores all human behavior over the last (checks watch) 10,000 years.
I liked your article more because it didn’t remind me of that “friend” who doesn’t say or do a thing in the moment, but talks shit the whole car ride home.
Legitimately thought this was a repost.
Ah, if only someone - say, an occasional contributor to this site - had proposed this idea in 2016... Read more
But perhaps no one was helped more than young Patrick Redford, who otherwise would just be remembered as the guy who said “the rest of the card will suck.”
It would not be prima facie evidence in the legal sense (it would not create a rebuttable presumption of responsibility) but it would be powerful impeaching evidence that I think a jury would find very troubling.
Thanks Daniel for laying it out. I’d like to add two observations. When Klobachar asked if Kavanaugh had ever ‘blacked out’, he replied “I don’t know, have you? Klobachar was taken aback and responded “Should I take that as a ‘no’? To his credit Kavananaugh told the truth in this instance, but the senator left the… Read more

I watched Mayweather-De La Hoya with a bunch of people, most of whom were casual acquaintances at best, and only one of whom (other than me) knew anything about boxing. He and I were the only people who knew that Mayweather was winning: everybody else got taken by De La Hoya's busy aggression. It was soooo hard not… Read more
Coincidentally, one of my favorite vegetable dishes down at my local Olive Garden is the Calabrese e Prosciutto, in which fresh stalks of leafy green broccoli are wrapped with Tuscan prosciutto crudo; drizzled with extra virgin olive oil; seasoned with red pepper flakes, minced garlic, and shallots; and cooked in the… Read more
Heh. I always root for Floyd. He's the best boxer of his generation by far.
Weirdly (and I hate to think I'm coming off as Contrarian Man here), my estimation of Canelo has gone down somewhat tonight. He beat the crap out of Mosley, but he was too tentative throughout and let a slow, punch-drunk 40-year-old dictate the pace for much of the fight. He'll be a champion, sure, but as IMG said… Read more
Incidentally, the Sformato di Tortorella is a delicious dessert soufflé down at your local Olive Garden. For this dish, crushed pistachios, lemon zest, fresh vanilla, anise, clarified butter, heavy cream, baking soda, and confectioner's sugar are folded into whipped egg whites; the mixture is fitted into a special… Read more
