This movie still holds the deepest, most visceral reaction I have ever had toward a film. Something about its ending resonated with me so deeply, that I had to take five whole minutes to process what I had just seen. I still haven’t had the will to rewatch it, because I don’t know how I would react to it again.

And that’s all you’ll get - talk. And maybe some firms getting paid to do some studies.

Launching a new Rocket is hard and the history of SpaceX is filled with catastrophic explosions, the reason why Nasa has had such few accidents in their history is they don’t take unnecessary risks

Tell us you don’t know the difference between going to the moon and back and low earth orbit insertions without telling us you don’t know the difference between going to the moon and back and low earth orbit insertion...

Things have gotten so desperate that local lawmakers have discussed the outlandish idea of piping in seawater from the Pacific Ocean to fill the lake.”

There were only two uncrewed Saturn V launches before they launched a crewed mission with Apollo 7, and that was back in 1968 when everything was designed using a slide rule and paper, hand-built and hand-assembled and they couldn’t run simulations in a computer. Manufacturing is vastly more precise and so much more

Since a lot of it is derived from the Shuttle program, there probably is some familiarity. Plus they have the benefit of CAD and simulation programs to virtually test a lot of components. In addition, the crew capsule can be jettisoned if something goes wrong.

I’m still honestly in shock that this is the only launch happening before they strap real people on the top of it - in 2 years. That’s crazy. I would not want to be those astronauts

With a little zinc, just like those supplements.

Umm... electrolytes aren’t the main source of lithium in batteries. They are a transport medium for whatever ions are being used to carry charge from anode to cathode and vice versa. Yes, there are generally some of the transport ions in the electrolyte solution to sort of kickstart the process, but they’d need those

I have never wanted to be friends with a stranger more than i do right now.

Only works for C cells.

If they dont call them CrabbyBattys we riot.

Does this mean the electrolyte goes good with butter?

True! And I certainly don’t begrudge that position at all!

LOL. Damn, I clicked because of the carpet.

As a Portuguese guy with lots of family in Portugal, I can tell you that, sadly, this isn’t something people over there give a shit about unless there’s a soccer ball fossil.

That looks huge and oddly reminds me of the Flintstones episode ending...
