(KY is a brand of lube. It was a pun.)

If you'd ever been in an abusive relationship, you would understand why it's so much more complicated than "Just leave."

I dated a woman like this (I'm also a woman). And when I say "like this," I mean the author's experience and mine were almost identical, minus the maggots. Reading this was incredibly unsettling. Abusive relationships - even ones that don't involve black eyes - can be the most damaging, destructive forces in the

So, weirdly enough, I actually am currently dating one of my ex's ex-girlfriends, though not Jane. After my ex and I broke up, she reached out to me because she'd heard through the grapevine about the situation, and we started talking and became friends and then, eventually, more than friends. It's weirdly novel-like.

My abusive then-girlfriend (I'm a woman) was a month away from moving in with me when she told me that she was having "feelings" for someone else, a friend of hers. She said nothing had happened, but she was now doubting our relationship. Cue a month-long hellish ordeal where we break up, get back together, break up,

I was about to say "Were you in my junior high school, because I remember that!", but I imagine the "organism"/"orgasm" slip is a common one for people to make.

This brings to mind one of my favorite Nicholson Baker quotes: "A good sex scene needs thwartedness, surprise, innocence, and hair."

Occasionally they have small sales (or, if you join their email list, you can get coupons), but nothing huge. But if you're ever in a place where you can treat yourself, they're really extraordinary dresses (and flattering on almost every body type).

Have you ever bought anything from Pin Up Girl Clothing? Same price bracket as ModCloth but super high-quality. I am obsessed with their dresses.

Pin Up Girl Clothing. That is all.

The books are pretty excellent. Not great literature, but breezy and fun and scary as hell. I tore through the first one in one night and didn't sleep until dawn. I can't wait to see the show.

Yup.

Is it weird that this reminds me of Heavenly Creatures?

I'm a civilian, but I get it. If I don't make my bed in the morning something feels weird and wrong. Making the bed (while my coffee is brewing) always feels like an excellent first step.

I have T-Mobile, but I wasn't actually on a PA mountain when I sent this, I was in upstate New York (near the Berkshires).

This was my text exchange with my girlfriend today. (We live in Pennsylvania.)

The Shia LaBeouf story isn't real. Check out the updated link.

Check out the updated link: Vulture unknowingly quoted a fake/parody interview from a literary magazine as its source that used quotes of Shia LaBeouf from other interviews and mashed them together:

A little of both. They seemed like your run-of-the-mill frat assholes, but there was something profoundly unsettling about them. (Part of their pledging was doing a series of disgusting tasks and not changing/not going home, so they'd be hiding in the library covered in crusty shit.) The library is dark and had a lot
