Well aside from episodes“I Was Made To Love You”/”The Body” and “Once More With Feeling”, the fact the show was not afraid to take risks and go in different directions is the thing that still makes me watch it.

I didn’t know why I knew him until he shaved off his beard. At that moment I yelled “Glorificus”!

Tepid. The original looked amazing, both the CGI and the directing. The acting was also strong but the overall plot was so hackneyed - white guy goes native and saves the locals from his former allies - that I couldn’t forgive it.
As the article states, variants often have nothing to do with the comic book content itself. I’ll wait for the story and then decide.
Astro City #1/2, “The Nearness of You”, is only one of two comic books to ever make me openly cry.
To exhibit their talent. The ability to successfully reinvent and create tangential work of established IP is big right now.
I remember when the website for this movie launched. It was incredible. It seemed to set up such an interesting and compelling story and got me so excited. And then we got this steaming pile.
You typed the words right off my keyboard.
All the questions and reservations you raised are the same ones I had this entire time. At some point I considered this scenario but that was among a long list of possibilities so I won’t say I “figured it out” but once that Wednesday Addams-ish smile curled along Michael’s face, it all started to make sense.
Making a renewal announcement this early in the season about is uncommon. Kudos to those shows returning however since the mid-season shows haven’t debuted yet it wouldn’t make sense to announce their renewal.
Very strong episode. This and last week’s focus on Ezekiel is how you do a spotlight episode right (even though that overall story I found kind of boring).
If Jerry Ryan hadn’t joined I am pretty sure I would have dropped the show. The injection of 7 of 9 changed the show’s dynamic for the better, esp in regards to Janeway which is what helps her be my favorite Star Trek captain (that and the coffee and “Get off my ship.” and “To hell with it [the Prime Directive].”).
Oh it was immensely hoaky and forever glossed over the real-world implications of what the characters did - and I never cared. I watched every minute of all 7 seasons.
“I’m Michael Weston. I used to be spy, until....”
I just assumed that in order to get him to play the part that they rejiggered Adam’s past to make him more of an anti-hero akin to Punisher or something like that.
Well, there’s the First Amendment upon which I’m sure the owners of said pornographic content would base (and win) a court challenge. Then there’s the fact that state law cannot override a treaty that gives power to a non-US government (unless treaties are not considered “foreign law”).
Dumb name for a movie for starters. And yes, Will Smith is over.
As someone who didn’t read the books, I can tell you the show is fantastic. Whether or not you feel the TV show should strictly emulate the book is a different matter and I for one don’t follow that rule - TV is a different medium and required a different storytelling style. I rebut CogentComment’s assertion that…
Bleeding Cool is reporting that it may be comments made by the creators that derailed the project. That being said, I happen to finish Vol 1 yesterday right before the announcement was made so am sad to see this.
