No, that sounds right. The problem is that once you get beyond the simplest case (one electron, one proton), the Schrodinger Equations are just impossibly hard to solve exactly, so in practice some sort of approximation is always used.

There are a couple of far better versions, especially with the black-and-white dance number. Italy didn’t broadcast TV in color until 1976.
