I can believe this. Sci-fi/fantasy fanboys (and fangirls) can be some of the most narrow-minded, bigoted section of fandom around. Ironic, in that your mind should be open to be able to accept all those amazing scenarios. Also...

I’m not a regular CoD player, but I have played in the past. Any action game that requires you to stare at a minimap is lame. It always sucks to feel like “oh I didn’t know that guy was there cause I wasn’t staring up at the corner of the screen”.

I agree.  A grey commenter (sorry, I can’t reply to it or bring it out of the greys because Kinja) pointed out that the root of all this is probably AT&T’s bungling of their ownership, and I can’t really disagree.

The immediate response any time any one shows this show is the backlash toward the character designs....and sure it’s kinda off and I’m personally not the biggest fan either.

Making Sonic up to date on action movies as a plot point in the first film was a pretty clever way of allowing him to do semi-fourth wall jokes (references to pop culture basically).

It looks like more of the last film with a bit more lean towards the games proper. They may have accidentally stumbled in to the perfect way to actually do a good video game adaptation.
