I don’t think that they should. That is rather terrible of people.

For sure. I hope nobody is jumping on this like it was the first. I’m sure that the Infinity:Battlescape engine wasn’t the first. But one of the things this one does really well is the atmospherics.

Point being none of this is new. What is cool is that it is running in CryEngine and is less than 9 months work part time of 2 people.

You should have seen it while it was in PTU. I know a lot of people experiencing crashes, Myself I’ve had a few hours long sessions.

They make space stations. One of the Planets in Stanton is even owned by them. It is called Crusader.

I think most would classify those as expansions despite being under the banner of DLC. See the AK DLC, those crappy missions and costumes are also DLC.

While that’s true to a degree, the eyes are also looking far into the distance as one does typically when giving a presentation in a larger area or theater.

They literally state that it is running real time in CryEngine. Watch the Facial Animation tech video.

You pay for tickets.

This scene was pure CG. The Gary Oldman trailer is all real time.

You should see the demo for the interactive part of the game here at 2:06. That has more natural interactions between humans but isn’t as production finished as the trailer.

I think that most would consider it a huge plus.

I think most people would consider that a huge plus.

I agree, I’m simplifying things. Regardless, if they make no profits (the money raised now might even be budgeted to include future costs), then they aren’t making a loss. Any judgment as to what is happening with all the money they have raised is speculative at best.

The person who quit did it for personal reasons. Rumours are that there was an illness in the family. It should be noted that most businesses have a certain amount of churn. This kind of thing is quite normal in any large studio.

Yup, as the other poster said, they get paid a Salary. They have no shareholders needing dividends or increases in stock value. Generally the largest cost center in Game development is for Labour, which is where the majority of the funds raised will be spent.

I don’t get what is so hard to understand. The number referenced in the Wikipedia page is the total amount of funds raised so far. It is likely to increase further, but it isn’t the cost *so far* to develop the game. It is unknown what they have spent, but it is highly improbable that it is 87m.

You’re quoting Wikipedia...

You’re presuming that this was made as a money-making venture. This isn’t a publisher run project.

I didn’t know that we started to refer to employees as “community”,
