Having had access to CBC and BBC Olympic coverage online, NBC is just... Painful.

It seems to be relatively common in countries that have legit national broadcasters. I know BBC had it as an option for Planet Earth and other BBC Earth docs, Canada has it as an option for their more popular shows, etc.

There are already similar but not at all as creepy programs for seasonal workers (summer camps, etc). But they actually get paid at least minimum,  and the ones I worked with had a few extra months on their visas to go traveling before heading back home.

There’s a whole dang city in Michigan that was almost entirely Polish immigrants and their descendents at one point. Now it’s a mix and shifting more towards Middle East / South Asian representing.
