You think Bezos would spare a billion for the show during the Emmy campaign season. This series (book and show) is everything that Game of Bros could have been.

Seconding that.  There is some bad stuff.  But there is also some absolutely fantastic stuff that I really think pointed out how good SF TV could be.  And I strongly believe that it really has a huge influence on story arcs seen in today’s shows.

Yeah, hard incorrect. There’s absolutely cringe in the various bottle episodes, but it’s cringe that’s on par with TNG or DS9.

The similarities are pretty superficial, to be honest. DS9 is more of an interrogation of Star Trek’s utopian values, and it doesn’t really become a war show until around the fourth season. B5 is more like a Lord of the Rings-style epic, done as a space opera rather than epic fantasy. The stakes are established around…
