(a handy roadmap to purge federal employees because of their political beliefs)

The part that really gets me is that you KNOW this woman played the victim the whole time she was out. Like she didn’t do anything wrong. That said, she probably HAD to be reinstated. A private employer could fire her for bringing negative attention to a business, but the First Amendment actually protects people from

The original route was going to go outside of Bismark, but apparently those white people that live there are immune to “eminent domain”. Now it is running within two miles of the reservation. Funny how those white people were immune from “eminent domain” and that natives were not.

Raging Bulldog, you don’t deserve a reply, but I’m feeling generous. I’m not sure, though, what the 200 million gas tanks on U.S. cars has to do with this pipeline to transport this oil to the Gulf of Mexico for export to other countries.

“deliberately asking them to transport the material by a less-safe alternative.”

What do you think the pipeline is going to do for Americans? It’s Canadian oil, brought down to the gulf to be refined and shipped to other nations. Canadians benefit, and Texas oil companies benefit... but I don’t see anyone else gaining anything from this endeavor.

Yeah. Keep saying that while pithily dismissing the person who ripped your false equivalency to shreds with a rational rebuttal. Just because you’re not swearing doesn’t mean you’re being reasonable.

Its the lazy and ungrateful like you that are the perpetual cause of “The Tragedy of the Common”

We really don’t.

“The reality is we do need that energy source at the moment. So maybe we should be talking about the safest way to transport it instead of saying “no” to everything.”

Too bad we’re not going to see the benefit from this new pipeline though. This new pipeline will create around 40 maintenance jobs.

Oh man, are you protesting protesting?

Didn’t take long for the idiots to show up.

I’d like to protest the fact that your Mom clearly didn’t breastfeed you enough.

Yeah, those dudes in Boston back in in the 1700's didn’t start anything meaningful with their rabble-rousing...

As long as you don’t use Papyrus, I will forgive you. Sidenote: the design on her candles was a thing of lackluster, half-assed beauty, and I am so proud of the props department.

It’s the single best episode of the entire series.

I make and sell candles on the side and I think about that episode all the time and wonder if I sound like Jan when I talk about it to people.
