I saw a tip somewhere a million years ago that does a similar job: Stick a skewer down the middle of the sausage and then using a knife, roll the sausage while slicing down to the skewer turning the sausage into a slinky. Remove the skewer and voila!

Parenting advice is fucking wild how it changes. I had my kid 11 years ago and back then it was “Never put a sleeping baby in the crib or they will never learn to self soothe! Get them most of the way to sleep and then set them down, if they fall too much asleep wake them up!” That seemed bonkers to me at the time. 

If she can read she should just say “Of course I can read. Here’s what this newspaper says...” and bada bing I’m convinced. The fact that she’s dancing around the topic just makes it look like she legit can not read.
