ah, no, they specifically said you can use any configuration of controllers or joyconses you want! it’s just, you know, in their best interest to always message that the player only needs the minimum setup. (it makes the games look more affordable, etc.)

That would be amazing.

Star Ocean: Blue Sphere next hopefully.

We need more Zone of the Enders... :(

(And yes I realize this is not actually the same Anubis as the one of ZoE, but damn I want more Zoe and I will use any chance I get no matter how tenuous the link)

In a world where The Purge and Death Race are a thing this doesn’t seem like that far fetched of a concept. Although if Rob Zombie isn’t involved in some way, even if its just for music, it will be a big disappointment.

Right now developers have to work pretty hard to have their games load stuff ahead and allocate resources properly. This could make it much easier for developers and they could focus on other stuff. There are games like God of War that can be played from start to finish without a single loading screen but there are

Excuse yourself from this conversation.

This is just incorrect. Better textures or models (eg: larger on disk) will cut in to a substantial increase in throughput from media into memory, but at the numbers we’re looking at in the above video, it’s absolutely not going to eat all of it. Then you mention effects, which are not really a “thing”, they’re simply

load times actually mater. A lot of game design currently is working around loading zones and texture pop in.  Eliminating that is actually quite interesting from a dev standpoint, and changes how levels and textures are designed.

Keep in mind, there are actually public decency laws in China that could have seen the people running the convention fined and/or arrested under the accusation they’d allowed that behavior to go on at their convention, which is why this had caught the attention of the police at all in the first place. What the user

Devil’s Advocate here. People who purposely lie to mislead the masses aren’t good people. I know what you are thinking. I’m crazy. Should everyone who makes a mistake be arrested? Arrest everyone who thinks we eat 10 spiders a year? But the police believe he was purposely lying.

Yea, I’ve already played SotN multiple times.

Now playing

Obligatory link to one of my best friends beating Castlevania on an NES without getting hit in 2001. Sorry for the choppy look, but this was transferred from a VHS. Still the best video game accomplishment I have ever seen live.

Japanese versions have more changes than censorship, particularly in the case of Castlevania III. Pretty substantial difficulty changing happened there (in US the damage you take is based on what stage you’re on. In Japan, the damage you take is based on the enemy that hit you. Plus Grant had some fair-sized changes.)

Note how Super Mario 3D World is under a menu title Extra game Styles? And there is also room for one more style right next to it. I think it’s fair to say they still haven’t shown off the full game, and at least one more mode drastically different from the other modes is in the game. The list of styles remaining is

As an avid PS4 user/owner, I absolutely love my Switch. It’s just an awesome little device. Given the WiFi connection in Japan being everywhere, it’s not hard to understand why it would take off. Plus, it’s got Monster Hunter and that means every gamer there owns one.

That’s not that hot a take. It’s a pretty reasonable assertion.

Well, Nintendo is dead for sure this time.

Japan has had a thing for smaller consoles and handhelds for ages. The switch is perfect in that regard.

That is insane. I mean, I understand why (Japan loves portables), but it’s still crazy to look at that statistic considering how much longer the PS4 has been around.
