Maybe it’s just me, but 25% doesn’t sound that bad at all. I would have guessed much higher, but without knowing how income lines were defined, I can’t really say much about this number. But I would have guessed that a large suburban home is far worse than a mere 25% per capita compared to an apartment building with

Dry 100+ degrees F sucks (that’s when the wind starts feeling hot when it blows in your face), but 90+ degrees F wet is so much worse.

If I’m thinking of the same Reddit thread you’re speaking of, it contained a list of accusations. While the accusations are certainly disturbing, they are not evidence. I could get a bunch of my friends and call this article’s author a dog-hating plagiarizer, but that doesn’t mean the author should be fired.

This has been an issue since I was a kid.

You’re not absolved of personal responsibility just because some blogger says you are.

Consumers like plastic. Stop blaming companies for making things that consumers want. Notice a lack of saddle shops and blacksmiths in towns? Because people don’t like horses the way they once did.

The only reason we shouldn’t be blaming the consumer is that it’s not effective.  Yes, consumers *ARE* the reason we have so much plastic.  We don’t buy in bulk (even when were allowed to do so pre-COVID), we don’t buy the aluminum version when the plastic one is available, we don’t buy concentrated cleaners so we can

I loved my Zune. The software was also fantastic and lightyears ahead of WinAmp or iTunes. Two words: dynamic motherfucking playlists. The UI ended up being a predecessor to the Metro interface so I had no problems adjusting to Windows 8 when it launched.

My experience is exactly the opposite of yours...almost. The only time I have been in an Apple store was when my wife drank the kool-aid and bought an iPhone.

The buses at my school ran for at least 30 minutes before the end of school, so that adds up. They also will stay running in cold/hot weather to keep climate control going.  I have seen buses run for the entirety of football games and track meets.

well they are idling for a minute or two every time they pick up a flock of offspring. and they also sometimes sit at the schools for an hour each at drop off and pick up and in their off duty time too.

How do you figure? If anything, they are the most on the throttle / on the brakes vehicle of all. Pick somebody up. Accelerate. Mash the brakes at the next stop. Repeat.

Without a mention of vehicle registration, it looks like gasoline/diesel truck sales are going to skyrocket in OR, AZ and NV in about 15 years.

I’m not being snarky but...

Can we please all agree to stop spreading the false message that Joe Biden is a sure win in November? We cannot afford to get complacent and have a repeat of 2016.

I mean, nothing surprises me much any more, but this is especially insignificant.

Right?

“But no matter how green the products a company like Tesla produces, for workers, these kinds of labor practices are unsustainable.”

Yeah? Seems like the g-forces push toward the floor regardless. I don’t see why a window seat would be much different from one on the center line.

I suspect the manufacturing difference now is carbon fiber - super light, super strong, super easy to make into whatever shape you want.
