Poor Rudy Vallee didn’t stand a chance against Grant in The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer. Nobody would have believed that Myrna Loy would go for a wet noodle like Vallee’s character.

In the “before times” I used to order lunch fairly regularly from JJs so I got this announcement email this morning. My house isn’t in a delivery area, though, so I won’t be trying it until my next trip to the office. 

Neither I nor anyone outside of that house know exactly what is going on but it’s pretty clear that at minimum they should be in therapy, both individual and family.

They schedule you when you get the first shot. That’s what complicates things a bit but I still think it’s better that someone get the shot instead of throwing it away. It gets the vaccine out there sooner. 

My sister-in-law got one because she works in a dental office. They had extra doses left over so they asked their employees if they knew anyone that met the eligibility requirements and could get there in short order. That’s how my in-laws got their shots. So it was both happenstance and meeting the requirements.

I thought about that too, and it definitely complicates things, but like you I landed on it better to get more people vaccinated sooner and not waste a dose. 

Happenstance is different than active planning. Your friend of a friend’s friend didn’t plan on getting the shot, they just happened to be there at the right time and if they didn’t get the shot it probably would have gone to waste. Better somebody get it rather than it being trashed. There’s no moral question there.…

The QAnon idiots will be just like any other doomsday cult when the date of the apocalypse turns out to be wrong. They’ll rationalize it and then change the date. 

This has been inevitable since they made the deal with the evangelicals in the 80s that they would pretend to care about abortion and other evangelical causes in exchange for support and campaign cash. That begat the Tea Party which begat Trump. 

We’ll see if the bus tossing translates in to actual action. I have my doubts. It would be the smart thing to do if they are concerned about the long term health of their party, but looking long term is not the American Way.
