I won’t actually accelerate as I fall, but I will approach the ground faster and faster. Think about it like this: if the ring is standing still and I run off the top of the stairs, I fly in a straight line. At first, the interior of the ring is far below me. But as it curves towards me, it gets closer and closer

Centrifugal force happens because stuff wants to move in straight lines. In a ringworld, the ground exerts an inward-pointing centripetal force on me to keep me moving in a circle, which I feel as an outward-pointing centrifugal force. But all this is just because stuff likes moving in straight lines.

5 kind of sounds like ambiance from TOS

What? Just what? Is this a sound you would hear if you were within the star’s atmosphere and somehow resistant to the heat? Is it propagating through the interplanetary medium or something? Isn’t the interplanetary medium to thin for much sound propagation? Whatever.

Not if it means getting rid of Ellen McLain.

One word: doppelgangers.

Oh thank goodness. That was the stupidest thing about the first season, and that’s saying something.

I think it was someone on Observation Deck who suggested Alexander Sidig (Doctor Julian Bashir from DS9) as the doctor, and I think that would work well.

Must you really put images like that up with no warning whatsoever? <Shudder>

That would be a bold move, ditching an Enterprise entirely and going for a spy story.

It’s like an Akira crossed with an NX. And it’s actually pretty small, if the white rectangle is the bridge window.

HAHA! Here, have all the stars.

Well, except for the Temporal Cold War.

Also, I dig the music. Like, really. Until it gets the BWHAMs. I mean, it’s like a combination of the Inception BWAM and that “Giant machine turning off” sound that gets used a lot.

Pleasebegoodpleasebegoodpleasebegood. I want to believe Simon Pegg. Some of the snippets of dialogue seem to support the idea that this might be a little more thinky than the last two.

Beat me to it.

So... does this mean that Itsy Bitsy Spider scene from Amazing Spiderman 2 was actually realistic?

Well. I kind of feel vindicated in my negative comment on the first trailer now.

Thank you. So much. The idea of good ole Harry saying that is just hilarious.

Just everything about this gif. Kara is obviously the best, but Barry’s swagger is great, too, and the look on James’s face... never has ice cream been regarded with such incredulity. :)
