Typical republicans.

See: her reaction when she realized they were in the same room together.

They probably saw Ruby as beneath them because she associated with “the wrong crowd” or whatever.

but isn’t her career basically being really good in The Great, a show nobody actually watched, for two seasons?

I don’t want every episode of DW to be like this. But if they are going to aim for contemporary satire or allegory with a critical eye, I’d prefer it if they swing big and miss than not try at all. And this one landed for me.

You missed the mark on this one, period, James. Everything in the episode is preparing you for that ending if you’re really watching it. Lindy outright rejects the Doctor and only listens to Ruby because she looks similar to the Finetime people. Even when they are giving advice, she is showing disdain to these

I only watched this episode once. I felt a sense of dread throughout much of it, but I was able to compartmentalize it and keep it moving. But, near the end, things got really uncomfortable because I was seeing myself in The Doctor’s shoes.

Huh, she’s a very good actress, but hardly what I think of for an action star.

HAVE CATHERINE THE GREAT FIGHT THE PREDATOR, YOU COWARDS.

I’m curious, how many times did you watch this episode?

Totally forgot Glen Close was in Guardians of the Galaxy. I guess her and John C. Riley’s characters just got murdered off screen?

I’ll echo the sentiments of others, that nepotism will only get you so far before you get sidelined. Did Maya Hawke have help getting her foot in the door? Absolutely. But she’s also done the work, and has the drive, and few would argue that doesn’t have incredible ability and camera presence. Compare to, say, Chet

I enjoyed it and am sure I will enjoy the inevitable sequels; Godzilla: Divided by Zero(*) and Cube Root of Godzilla.

Where nepo babies are concerned, in front facing entertainment there’s at least a filter...if you’re a shitty actor or singer, no matter how A+ list your parent is, you’re going to get sidelined.

People complained about Ruby’s look? That’s a shame. I actually appreciated how restrained they were. Maybe it’s because I’ve just turned 40, but I was impressed that they didn’t go, “Welp, better make Millie a full-on hag now.”

I liked this season of Discovery. It was all ridiculous nonsense start to finish but I didn’t care; I jettisoned the cynicism and went for a ride in a comforting familiar sci-fi universe.

Discovery is way better than Picard seasons 1 and 2 (season 3 was almost a completely different show).

Jeremy Renner exists in the Glass Onion universe - his hot sauce is referenced in the last movie. So he may just be playing himself.

Yahoo betcha I am.
