Yeah, that's something I was never aware of previously. They always struck me as having a very well-balanced chassis, but a couple years ago when I was considering looking at 2 year old A6's as a possible next car, I ran across that information and was very surprised.

Out of curiosity, how's the quality? I'm seeing more than a few recent reviews on Amazon on the latest version being sold, stating "quality isn't nearly as good as last year's model"....stitching coming undone, etc. Thanks in advance!

Crack pipe. That's a Frank N. Stein if ever there was one. Taking a generally unreliable British car with a penchant for electrical problems and rust, and dropping a problematic (albeit beloved in certain circles) and difficult to work on rotary engine into it spells "certain tears" in my book. But, that's just me....

Thanks Danny. That’s been my basic line of reasoning, as well.....problem is, we’ve had a number of folks on Bimmerboard.com (my E38 family) who’ve had them crap out not long after 100K, making me and others wonder whether their disintegration may be more due to age than actual use (or abuse) and miles. I did do my

That’s awesome! Too bad you don't live out here in the East coast. Out of curiosity, how many hours do you have the M62TU timing chain guides job down to? My buddy from NH has probably 16 or so of these under his belt, so he and I (mostly he) may tackle mine (‘01 740i Sport) this fall. Only have 117k miles, but I

Yeah, what’s funny is, I can’t really figure out why my wifi coverage is so good with my router in the basement. By all accounts, it should be terrible, but I get a good signal throughout the house, into my garage, and even have a decent perimeter around the outside of the house. If signal strength were the issue, I'd

Nice looking router. If I bought one, I’d feel bad about the fact it would be sitting in my basement office rather than on my main floor so I could gaze longingly at it whenever I walk through the room.

Right? I love their products, but I’ve had the same problem with the last 2 Anker charging stations I've bought. Also had both USB ports crap out on a battery pack of theirs. They sent me a replacement unit, but this seems to be a trend with their ports....

Wouldn’t it be great if we had a government agency, charged with tested things (maybe even within 10 years or so of introduction) to ensure at least some level of public safety?

I personally don’t like any of these. Historically, Audi, Benz, BMW and Infiniti crossovers all built RWD biased all wheel drive systems, but now that a) cost-cutting reigns supreme, even above performance, and b) these manufacturers have concluded that the buyers in this hot market segment really don’t care and/or

Because German reliability sucks and Japanese doesn't? :)

Mind blown. That is awesome. Can't wait to impart this knowledge on my dad; lover of all things history...especially if they involve ships (and extra points for 'pirates'!)

Keep in mind, many institutions like Bank of America are now charging you each time you use overdraft ($10 a pop to be precise, plus if you don’t pay off that balance immediately, you’re also paying interest on that money).

I suspect your fiancée is a very special person to be putting up with the likes of you and your summer vacation car follies. Lord help you if your car and you ruin all of it...in which case....I can't wait for the video!

Ooof, buying a 25 year old Bimmer which has lived on Cape Cod? No thank! ;) #rustbucketcentral

Actually, no app at all. Try a pair of neoprene earplugs instead. As a light sleeper who often has trouble falling and staying asleep, it's funny how the sound of your own breathing will drown out most of the annoying sounds around you, while also lulling you off to sleep. And it's all-natural, too :)

Absolutely. Another one I've always appreciated was “Keep a stiff upper lip"...Always thought it had been a Churchill-ism (there are so many great ones) but in searching its origin, it seems unclear where it came from.

Oh, iOS 10 still supports an iPhone 5 from 2012....it just doesn’t support it very well ;)

Gout is also hereditary (“thanks, Dad!”) but yes...too much protein **seems** to be problematic for us gout sufferers. For me anyway, I have a very mild case of it; so mild, that I can eat/drink all the “wrong” things and it still doesn’t cause a flare-up for me. What does is not peeing enough—say when I’m out in the
