Failing to clear the snow from your car is not illegal as such in the UK. The Highway Code, para 229, does refer to clearing your vehicle of snow, but doesn't prefix it with "you MUST..." (the HC's way of identifying legal requirements, rather than common courtesy, good sense).

Agree. I owned a 1993 Xantia 1.9D between about 1996 & 1999. Damn thing cost me a fortune - blown head gasket, radiator hose, some bizarre wiring panel cover on the underside. The biggest WTF though was when the sacrifical £1.50 part that's there to protect the expensive hydropneumatic suspension from failing

Porsche aren't the only sports car people to have a go with Lada. There was an early episode of new-style Top Gear where they took a guy's Lada to Lotus for a tune-up. Well, a complete re-engineering, really.
