Looks like I missed out on this one...

Way back in 2004, I had recently purchased my first car with a manual transmission (a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2). After a few weeks of struggling with things such as setting off and finding gears, I was finally getting used to rowing my own. Unfortunately, I spent most of my time getting used to driving the car and not

Forgetting to set your parking brake and/or leave your car in gear.

Fair enough. I was probably a bit too harsh in my last paragraph, but I only have my personal experiences to go by.

Do you know if the plows had made it out by the time the heaviest traffic hit between 7-8AM? My point was more along the lines that roads in the north are usually treated in relation to traffic density. How much traffic was out there with you at 5:20AM? Enough to make you concerned about hitting someone else if you

I think you are underestimating the size of cities like Birmingham and Atlanta. The Birmingham metro area is home to over 1 million people and the Atlanta metro is over 5 million. Are you saying that cities of that size in the colder climates don't always clear their major thoroughfares (the roads being depicted in

Northwest Louisiana.. I say that because the Shreveport area is more culturally aligned to Texas than Louisiana.

I'm not a Louisiana native, but from an outsider's perspective it seems as though the people here want to be a part of the culture that exists further south. This area doesn't have the history though so it all feels manufactured. That and this part of the state is way too conservative to try and match even Lafayette.

Nope.. I lurk around here quite often and post every once in awhile - usually photos and tales of my adventures outside of Shreveport on Oppo.

I'm well aware.. Fortunately I work remotely for a company in Metairie so I get to leave Far East Texas and head into true Louisiana quite often.

Shreveport, because we're not really Louisiana anyway

It is even prettier at night:

Great museum... I visited last year and was impressed with their collection. Here are some shots I got during my visit:

I suppose I should have gone with something that was actually closed. I still like my swings better

So something like this...

Because the last thing you want when attempting a getaway is a hop-on...

Here's the best I could find in my collection:

Here's some photos I snapped with the naughty bits exposed (some reposted from my oppo post here):

I live in Shreveport and I'll be going to check it out next week. I'll report back with pictures and whatever intel I can get my hands on.
